“Wonderful stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

We had a lovely three night stay at the Acadia Hotel July15-17th. Our room was small, but very clean, and it had everything we needed for our Bar Harbor stay. The setting was in the New England style, and it felt like "home". The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions for seeing Acadia ( even in the rain) and Bar Harbor. I loved the front porch on the green with lemon water and a firepit in the evening. We had a nice deck to sit on outside our room too. This was like staying at a family run Inn right in the heart of a lovely town. We would stay here again- no question.

Room Tip: Book early in advance of your trip. They had no vacancies while we were there. We had an economy r...

This small hotel was a lovely experience from the decor, the comfort, the location, and the staff. Though the room we had was one of the smaller ones they offer, it was well designed to provide maximum comfort. And the location just can't be beat - right next the the village green so you can walk to everything. The shuttle stop for the free transportation to Acadia park is just a block away, so you really do not need a car to visit Bar Harbor and the park.. The manger, Jordan, was extremely nice and helpful as well as knowledgeable about the town history. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a small intimate hotel experience..

Room Tip: don't choose room 8 if you have short arms - the location of the toilet paper holder is not clos...

This hotel has a perfect location in Bar Harbor! It is just across the street from the town green space and all the restaurants and shops! The hotel was clean, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area - especially the hikes in Acadia!

I had the pleasure of spending last weekend at the Acadia Hotel. I could not have asked for a more pleasant located. It is in the center of town but my room (The Suite) was quiet and spacious. The hotel is beautifully maintained and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. I will return.

Room Tip: The suite has beautiful views of the mountains.

The pro's: this location is perfect and located one block off maine, right across from the town Greene and shuttle pick up to acadia. The staff is friendly and helpful. The house is quiet and reminded me of a b&b without the breakfast. Go to This Way cafe for breakfast (a 2 min walk and awesome food).
The cons- the room is tiny, barely big enough for the queen bed and practically no space to even open our suitcases with dated wallpaper. The bathroom was modernized but was dark. The wifi (although free) was spotty at best.

We stayed at the Acadia Hotel for three nights starting on June 28, 2014. The Acadia Hotel definitely has a great location. It's directly across from the town park and one block to the main drag. We had a king room which was on the second floor. There is no elevator. The room was very clean. My first concern was the lack of any dresser space to put clothes in or anyplace to put a suitcase. We came to find out that there were two of those metal suitcase racks but they were under the bed! I don't look under the beds in hotel rooms as a rule. I also noticed that our room was never cleaned after our arrival. Our bed was made every day and we got clean towels but the floor was never vacumned nor was the bathroom sink or toilet cleaned. I thought this a bit unusual considering the money they were getting for their rooms. But as I said, the location definitely made up for any of these inconveniences. The hotel has a huge front porch for sitting and relaxing as well as fresh lemonade in a big jug for your enjoyment. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Acadia Hotel. It was quiet at night but we had the AC going which may have drowned out any street noise there may have been. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Bar Harbor. The hotel and the people we met there were very nice.
