“Fantastic B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

This was the very first B&B we stayed at and it was a wonderful experience. The location is great, although parking may be tough since there aren't many spaces. It's on a small side street that's literally a 1-minute walk from town. We stayed in the Look Nook room -- it was very clean, and while we knew it was one of the smaller rooms, there was still ample space for all of our belongings. Snacks were provided 24/7, and there were a ton of brochures for things to do in the area. Martha and Tim were such gracious hosts -- they answered all of the questions we had about our planned activities, like the times of the sunrise and low/high tide. We came back a little after breakfast time but Martha was still kind enough to prepare something for us. We wanted to hang out in town for a little bit longer after checking out, and they even let us leave our car in their driveway so we wouldn't have to worry about parking. Overall an amazing, pleasant experience, and we would definitely stay here again.

On a New England trip we stayed only at B&Bs. This one hits 5.0 in every area: attentive but unobtrusive hosts, close to town and restaurants, treats available every day (loved the chip cookies), large rooms with comfortable beds, and of course great breakfasts every morning. After this experience, would not want to stay anywhere else in Bar Harbor.

My husband and I stayed in Martha and Tim's lovely B&B on our recent trip to Bar Harbor. They were so friendly and attentive to us that we felt very well taken care of. Our dog Jackie had a great time meeting their dogs Ellie Mae and Clinton. The rooms were spotless and the bed was so comfortable. It was a short walk to everything downtown. Martha recommended taking the shuttle bus to Acadia for some hiking and it was perfect. She also let us know they allow dogs on the bus. It was perfect. Thanks Martha and Tim! We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely B&B and a lovely couple who own it. We felt pampered yet at home and just a short walk to everything in Bar Harbor. Sheets and toiletries were wonderful. Clinton, the Lab mix, was so sweet and a calm.

Room Tip: All rooms had A/C but the Cottage Room was in the back and very quiet.

This was the first B&B we stayed at and Martha spoiled us. From the great breakfasts to the comfy beds we just loved it. The rooms were extremely clean and smelled great. We will stay here again if we come to Maine again. It is close to everything so you can just walk everywhere.

This is the place to stay! Martha is inviting, informative, warm and generous. Her breakfasts are creative and unbelievably delicious. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and clean and have everything you need- high end toiletries, tv, a/c, wifi. The house dogs are sweet and unobtrusive. It is a short walk to Main St and a ton of fun activities and amazing restaurants.

My boyfriend and I went to Bar Harbor for a two night get away in the "off season" of March. We choose Canterbury Cottage because of it's convenient proximity to the downtown area of Bar Harbor.... We walked everywhere! The bed was very comfortable we just meted right in, the dogs were very friendly... next time we will bring our pup! Martha Made great breakfasts and even cooked us "veggie sausages" because we don't eat meat, it was very nice of her to accommodate us in that way !
