At this campground, you get a pleasant plot of land to pitch your tent or park your RV, great amenities, and friendly service, all for a very reasonable price. I don't often leave 5-star reviews, but Bar Harbor Campground earned this one. The other reviews mostly paint a pretty fair picture of what to expect. Some of the positives: incredibly helpful staff, reasonable prices, beautiful ocean view at the pool, blueberries growing all around that you can pick and eat, convenient Bar Harbor location, lobster dinners delivered to your campsite, adjacent ice cream shop, and bathrooms that are cleaner than I've seen in some hotels. We were uneasy that they don't take reservations, but even during a really busy week in July they had plenty of sites from which to choose. The down sides: cash only; little privacy. Yes, many of the sites are close together. If you prefer a little more privacy, choose one of the wooded sites. A camp store on site would be helpful. For our tastes, the positives here far outweigh the few negatives, and we're looking forward to going back there next time we're at Acadia.
