“Good location, very neat & reasonably priced.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

I would definitely stay here again. If you don't mind not being in the center of Bar Harbor, this is a great motel. Heated pool, a/c, microwave, fridge and close to the entrance to Acadia and only a short drive to Bar Harbor. The fridge seemed to malfunction and froze some of beverages causing a can of soda to blow up. Finding a parking space in Bar Harbor was a challenge, but we managed. There is a very nice miniature golf course directly across from the motel. All in all it was a good experience.

Room Tip: We were in Unit 1, just a short distance from the office and ice machine.

The setting and location are definitely a plus. Listening to the breeze through the pines is so relaxing. A very easy drive to town with mini golf, ice cream, and a local lobster shack nearby (less than 1/8 mi. walk). Rooms are bright and very clean. Heat, AC, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, the large TV and WiFi all worked well. Bathroom was very clean but had very little vanity space. Road noise was related mostly to motorcycles.

The room was small and dated, but generally clean. Both heat & A/C worked okay. In room fridge worked fine. The TV was small, but was a flat screen. The WiFi worked okay, but slow. The pool was still closed during our visit. Outside the rooms were chairs and picnic tables, this gave the place a bit of a campground feel. Not a bad thing as it gave us a place to cook on our camp stove.

Directly across the street was miniature golf. We didn't go there, but it may be good for kids.

We called to reserve a room while on the road the afternoon of our check-in. The lady on the phone quoted a price higher than their Web site's "check availability" page. When we told her about this, she agreed to the lower price while on the phone. Just after hanging up the phone, we saw the link for "last minute prices" - this price was another $7/night less. When checking in just a couple hours later, the lady at the front desk denied knowing anything about the lower price. They never did honor the lowest price. Three different prices for the same room is not cool.

Overall, given the number of other choices in the area, we will go elsewhere the next time.

Very clean, good value - not expensive as other places, very nice staff but there was no telephone (in my room anyway. A payphone is available in the lobby). So if you want a telephone or any kind of water view, you may want to stay elsewhere. Nice location if you don't like hubbub.

Room Tip: Miniature golf for kids across the street and good restaurant, both within walking distance.

My family has been taking long weekend trips to Acadia since I was in middle school. (I am 29 now and we all still make the trip from Boston once a year.) For the past 10 or so years we have been staying here. We always find it very comfortable, clean, and well located. The kitchenette is a nice tough as we have breakfast in the room.

It's very easy to get to town from here and equally easy to get to the park. We also love the convenience to Pirates Cove mini golf. The pool is nice although a tad shady due to the pines. Always very quiet. Don't hear the traffic at all.

We travel with my parents, older brother, my husband and myself. We either get two rooms or share a suite with a kitchenette. Both situations work out well.

Rustic, but charming.

The motel itself, to be honest, is nothing spectacular. It is nestled a couple miles outside of the Bar Harbor main town center, but it is an incredibly easy journey into town and the park. It is quiet and comfortable and the staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful. This area is saturated with lodging options, but I would never go anywhere else based on the great experience we had.
