“Wonderful time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

My wife and I usually stay on the quiet side, but that location was booked so we took a chance on the Quimby House and were very glad we did. The location menat that we could easily walk to everything in Bar Harbor and we did not have to fight for a parking place. Great food located near by for all meals. Easy to walk to night spots too. Staff was terrific and that just added to the experience. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet and we were on the first floor near the desk. It is nice to know that we can enjoy some evening peace and quiet on the harbor side of the island.

first of all quimby house is at a really good location .just minutes from downtown.
price is good rooms are very clean and the host, mostly nick .was very helpful.
thanks for the wrench..lol..
I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
how come you can not find a cold glass and a extra cold beer in barharbor ?????
a lot of the restaurents are very overated for there seafood, and over priced ( I'm from maine )
if you want to have a good place for a couple of cold ones go to the Dog and Pony.

Room Tip: don't eat at the chart room over priced for what you get

Stayed in room 106 with 2 adults and 12 y/o, King suite for 6 nights. Payed 206$ a night.
Pros: Friendly staff, private entrance for this room. Pull out sofa bed. Walking distance to water and all of touristy bar harbor. Old historic inn. Owners live on premesis.

CONS: Could do so much more with rooms. Had green carpet, always smelled a little musty, very outdated, furniture was like late 70's early 80's cheap hotel furniture. Had a 1980's vintage projection screen tv. A/C was in main living area, which left the separate main BR with no ac, so had to freeze other room area to get a little cooler in BR. King size bed VERY hard, needs updating. Bathroom small for a suite. Would expect more for this price and a "suite"

Suggestions: Window ac unit for BR or at least a ceiling fan. Wood floors and maybe some furniture that LOOKS antique but solid would add to ambiance. Plush mattress ot temperpedic style mattress that does no have springs poking you. Staff is friendly and place looks great from outside..but would stay else where if I came again.

Room Tip: Our room had own entrance, rm 106, so did not have to enter main house to get to room. Ground level.

My husband and I visited Acadia National park and stayed in the Quimby House. It was charming and fresh. We were in a great spot to walk through Bar Harbor, being close to everything and minutes from the park. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would absolutely stay here again if we are blessed with another trip to Acadia!

This is a lovely inn and was an excellent value compared with other hotels in the area. It is right in the center of things, just a few blocks from the main downtown and very close to supermarket, restaurants, basically everything. The rooms were like staying at your friends house: very comfortable, with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor are quieter but there is no elevator. Room 317 had a nice mattress, room 3...

I am a Bar Harbor summer resident and couldn't wait to go to Danielle for a massage. I love the feel of the Inn and Spa. Very cozy&clean. My massage was amazing! I have many issues from head to toe, and Dani addressed every one perfectly.
Will be back next week!
