“Excellent Lobster”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

What a surprise- a restaurant on the waterfront having great lobster. The lobster roll was excellent with a generous serving of meat with just a little seasoning. When asked how much lobster was in the bisque- the waiter said not much but he could have the kitchen add an order of meat to the soup. This made for a really good treat. There was an additional charge of course, but it was really worth it. Wish we had time to sample more of the menu.

Definitely a place to stop, especially if you're on a cruise, as it is located adjacent to where the tenders from the ships land.

“Good first lobster experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

This was our first time for a lobster dinner where you had to 'do everything' ... Good service from the waitress who was very informative and guided us through the surgery to ensure we experienced a good meal... Good choice for something that is available everywhere in town ...

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

We had actually just come off the ship and had to have some lobster rolls. The blue berry pie is awesome! I recommend this to anyone visiting.

“First timers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

The food and atmosphere were great along with the location. The service wasn't the best, but the food was great. I loved the clam chowder and my husband had the blueberry pie!! The lobster roll was excellent. Next time, we plan to eat downstairs or, if the weather is warmer, outside.

“This is factory eating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

My wife and I ate at Stewman's last week during a visit to Bar Harbor. Our hotel concierge recommended the place as a good place to go for lobster. The place was noisy, the food was mediocre at best, the service was poor (they were definitely understaffed the evening we visited), and we found their prices to be at or above the very nice places we ate at in town. I ordered a $17 bowl of lobster stew which was basically 2 ounces of lobster meat in a bowl of warm milk with little to no taste. We would not go back to Stewman's. We don't recommend. There are much better choices - especially for the cost. I'd compare the food quality and atmosphere to a cafeteria.
