“No breakfast when not staying in the main house -disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

The room was very clean, location was great but felt like we were a bit over charged since we could not find a place to stay. Make sure you ask if breakfast is included in the rate. We had assumed the breakfast was for all guests and guess have confirmed. They said we could go if we paid 20 a person. The beds and room was very clean. The coffee and muffins that were available were excellent.

Thank you for your review. We charge one rate for the whole summer season. The motel rate is a lot lower than the Inn because there is no breakfast. We try to make it clear on the website and phone orders that breakfast is not included with the Motel. You certainly are welcome to come over for an additional charge of $15.00 per person. We have limited kitchen and dining space therefore making it next to impossible to offer breakfast to all of our guests. There are many places close by to walk to for breakfast.

We stayed in the large suite on the ground floor next to the breakfast room. It was large and comfortable. The location was great and the breakfast was terrific. Homemade blueberry scones and chocolate chip cookies were always available in the foyer. Host Pam gave an excellent overview of how to see the town and the park. We would definitely choose the cottage again. We think it is one of the best we have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: The Norimbega (?) room had a king and a double. Perfect for us. On the ground floor but house has...

Friendly! Clean! Room 6 is on the third floor, small, but the bed is comfortable. The shower is very good and the toilet will take you back in time as it had a pull chain and water closet on top! I hadn't seen one of those in a really long time.

A mighty fine breakfast is served from 8 - 10 am for those who stay in the main house.

Fruit, eggs cooked to order, blueberry scones that are wonderful, eggs benedict, juice, and so very much more.

The location is on a quiet side street and a short, easy walk to the center and restaurants.

If you're a couple who is looking for a romantic, quiet dinner try Mache on Cottage St. Pam, one of the owner's of Mosely, recommended this restaurant and didn't steer us wrong. Be sure to have a reservation.

We tried Fathom too and found it to be a disappointment after having been to Mache.

Cobblestone's, across from the park in the center, is a nice place to have a drink and people watch.

I have never been to Bar Harbor before and The Mosley Inn was a good choice. The grounds were well maintained and the staff was very pleasant. The room was enjoyable and quite. They do leave the front door to the Inn unlocked 24 hours and after the Reception Clerk leaves and that was concerning. Breakfast was made to order versus fixed which was great.

We would stay there again.

We stayed in the motel part of the Inn & Motel. It was a basic room with a comfy bed. The location couldn't be better -- within walking distance from the center of town but nice and quiet. We enjoyed the evenings sitting in the garden before walking to town for dinner. Also easy drive into Acadia Nat'l Park.

We just returned from a great trip to Bar Harbor, Maine July 25 to July 30, 2013.

We booked Moseley Cottage online based on the reviews and availability. Busy time of year. I'm very glad other places were booked, as staying at a cozy, family run Inn was just right.

The staff was extremely gracious, always. The hotel is very well maintained, clean and updated. The breakfasts were excellent, including Eggs Benedict. They also served home-made scones and delicious fruit tarts made from scratch in their kitchen .

We did not know breakfast was not included as we were in the hotel. After the first day one of the staff advised us as we were staying in the motel section, not the Inn. We had breakfast as second time, and they removed the charge for the first because they said they did not advise us in time and there was no charge.

Location was excellent, just off the main street around the corner. It was great not to be in the middle of the hubbub, but close enough to walk to everything. The street Moseley is on is so very New England.

Next time in Bar Harbor, we will stay there again.

My husband and I spent two nights at the Moseley Cottage Inn. Our room was at the top of the stairs on the second floor, in the rear of the house. It was a very spacious, graciously appointed room with many features unusual in a B&B. There was a walk-in closet (old style) with a small refrigerator; the full bath was original to the house, also spacious and well stocked with extra towels, shampoo, ample storage spaces for cosmetic bags. A fireplace and lovely art graced the room. A loveseat afforded comfortable seating in front of the small TV. A door opened to a small porch with comfortable wicker furniture. The secure Wi Fi was excellent and never failed. The king size bed could not have been more comfortable. A bureau which we did not use offered plenty of space for guests staying longer.
Breakfast was good, and portions were too generous. The server was very pleasant as well as informative. Choices included normal arrays of cereals, bagels, toast, scones, a different pastry each day (peach tart, apple coffee cake during our stay) and guests could order a full breakfast of eggs any style with bacon or sausage, or eggs benedict, or omelets, or pancakes. Maine coffee was exceptionally good. Fresh fruit and yogurt were also available as were several juices, tea, and water. We were a little put off when on our first morning, the small dining room was full. Half an hour later, it was clear, and our second morning afforded seating on the first try.
The front desk offered a loaner CD to self-tour driving Acadia Park, which we used and appreciated. We had not expected the congested downtown area (very busy in late July high season), but we parked our car at the Inn and walked to shopping and to restaurants. The shore walk was easily accessible, quite beautiful (not so crowded) and suggested by the very pleasant lady who checked us in.

Room Tip: We loved the Sargent Room. The website shows excellent photos of each space. I am not aware of a b...
