“Nice pub with a local vibe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

We stopped in several times for drinks or lunch during our recent stay in Bar Harbor. We liked that it seemed to be popular with locals. It gets very busy at lunch time, but the staff remains friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the clam chowder, blackened haddock sandwich, and the lobster roll over several visits. We enjoyed everything we sampled.. I particularly loved the no-nonsense lobster roll. Prices are very reasonable, as well.

“Drinks good, Food bleh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

Ok place to have a drink and relax, check the tv for sports. Clam chowder was just about clamless, fried fish was soggy, french fries ok... My take - drink here, eat elsewhere.

We love this place. They have great lobster rolls and the fried clams are delicious. It is a locals pub. Every time we eat here the service is fast.

“Standard pub food, very good lobster roll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

The food at the Thirsty Whale is standard pub food. The fries were ok, the turkey rueben ok and the lobster roll was very good, but had a lot more mayo than other rolls I had on my trip. Of the six I ate, this one was probably number five.
