“Charming and convenient inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

We stayed at the Inn two nights this past weekend. It was our first trip to Bar Harbor. Deborah was very helpful and welcoming recommending restaurants and tours. Loved the poodle Leon! We would stay again.

Deborah was such a wonderful host! She greeted me upon arrival with a smile and showed me to my adorable room. I stayed in the Heritage Room... it was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. She had great recommendations for dinner and suggested other activities that kept me busy during my short stay in Bar Harbor. The breakfast was amazing!! I would highly recommend the Coach Stop Inn to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Bar Harbor area. If I ever visit the area again, I will make sure to stay with Deborah again!

Even before we arrrived at this charming Inn, I could tell from talking to Deborah on the phone, that this was going to be a very wise choice for us veteran B&B lovers. Deborah was so warm and accomodating and was very solictious of any dietary needs we might have. Our plans changed at the last minute which made it necessary to arrive at the Inn one day later. Not only did she do so without hesitation but she also upgraded us to the Heritage Room for the two nights. One of the things we noticed at this Inn was her meticulous attention to detail. Each morning she prepared a printed daily menu that also included the day's weather forecast for the area which was a lovely touch. Although the Inn is about a 10 minute drive from Bar Harbor town center, we loved the location because of its close proximity (about 2 miles) from Acadia National Park. We would recommend this Inn to anyone traveling through this part of Maine. Jane B.

Room Tip: We would recommend the Heritage Room in you are staying for more than one night because it is so spa...

We stayed at the Coach Stop Inn for four night in August, and they were fabulous. Deborah is the quintessential hostess. She is so in tuned to her guests needs and goes out of her way to be sure that everything is perfect.

We booked the Heritage Room for two nights, and, because this was a special occasion, we moved to the Tavern Suite. Deborah and her assistant made the move seamless!!

We have traveled throughout the world and stayed at many B&Bs. Deborah's breakfast was, by far, one of the best we have ever had. Each morning was different - coffee and beverages were always available (including homemade hot chocolate mix) - and each afternoon she had a homemade treat for all guests (she even baked a special birthday cake for my husband's birthday).

The rooms are elegantly decorated and spotlessly clean. The building was originally built in 1804, so it is not ultra modern, but it is charming with updated bathrooms (so not to worry about outdated plumbing).

The only drawback I could mention is that the driveway is a little hard to manipulate on a busy route (the main route into Bar Harbor and Acadia). It is easier to see coming from the mainland, but coming from Bar Harbor, it is difficult to see - we missed it several times and had to turn around.

You can't go wrong staying with Deborah and the Coach Stop Inn - charming and delicious!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are away from the main road - and noise was not a problem.

Wonderful stay at the coach stop inn. First time my fiancé had ever stayed at a B&B and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place or more gracious service. Location can't be be beat either...5 minutes to Acadia..10 minutes from town. Oh and the breakfasts we're interesting and delicious.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Coach Stop Inn while visiting Bar Harbor for the first time. I used Trip Advisor to find the right place for our stay and indeed the Coach Stop Inn with Deborah the innkeeper and Leon the cute house dog WAS the perfect place. The inn is located away from the busy downtown and closer to the entrance of Acadia - this is what we wanted. We stayed in the Blue Hill Bay room which was cozy and very nicely decorated. Charming little patio outside of room. Deborah was extremely helpful offering advice on places to eat and places to visit. Really enjoyed the hike up Beech Mountain. And the breakfast each morning was WOW! Each morning we came into the dining area to find a new menu with a creative spread. I couldn't wait to see what the breakfast muffin would be each day. Thanks also to Carl, our morning server, who is studying music education and took some awesome pictures of the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. I should also mention the late day, evening goodies. Can't forget about them. Deborah was so accommodating for some mornings we needed an earlier start and she prepared the wonderful breakfast to meet our schedules. And Leon, the lovable brown poodle was there to offer us a greeting each day. I could go on and on. Deborah, thank you for a wonderful visit and we will be back. Jim and Marijane

Room Tip: We went small and cozy knowing that more time would be spent outdoors. Bigger suites are also availa...

Wow Deborah! You made our first time in a B&B a very enjoyable experience! I know that we will be hard pressed to find a place that is better than yours! We stayed in the Tavern room, which has its own sitting room. Felt like home away from home! We didn't realize that we were going to be that far out of but realized that town was a busy spot and we were glad to be away from the noise. Deborah made us feel very welcomed into her home and gave us a map of the area and pointed out some of the local attractions. The breakfast! It was delicious! The only recommendation that I would give is to provide some outdoor space where guests can enjoy the evening outdoors.
