We return every year to Acadia National Park and stay at the Seacroft Inn. The location is perfect as we can walk everywhere easily and take the free Island Explorer bus at the Village Green that is right across Main St. Bar Harbor can be very busy, especially when cruise ships are in port, but the inn is on a quiet, dead end street. Bunny is very friendly and helpful. She does most of the inn keeping work on her own and hence is able to keep the prices affordable. There is a little coffee room with tea and coffee available from 7 - 10 AM and a warm fire from a stove when the weather is chilly. Housekeeping is $10 extra a day but clean towels are provided daily along with large towels to use at the beach. The inn is extremely clean but it is not a "luxury" inn. We go to Acadia for the lovely scenery and vibrant town, not to stay in our room! All rooms have a refrigerator and microwave so we go the Hannaford supermarket (easy walking distance) and make sandwiches for picnics in the park every day. Although we travel extensively, Bar Harbor/Acadia is our favorite place and we always return to the Seacroft Inn every year for a wonderful week.
