“Wonderful place to spend a family vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

My husband and two children (31 years and 23 years) stayed here last week and we had a wonderful time. Our motel room was roomy, and had a kitchenette with all the essentials. The bathroom was small but clean and functional. It is an older place but they do a great job of keeping things in good working order (painting, cleaning, etc.) and the grounds are beautiful and quiet. The housekeeping staff work hard to service the rooms nicely each day. Would definitely stay here again if in the area!

Room Tip: The property is very quiet and all cottages and rooms are nice.

We've been locked in to the "same ol' place" chosen by friends we were traveling to Bar Harbor with for years. Going alone this time we checked TripAdvisor first (of course); Found this place. Not sure what we might have needed at the $450 place that we didn't get at this one for less than 1/4 that. We had one of the ten motel rooms - cottages already taken. As those before us discovered, cute, CLEAN, pleasant and convenient with everything up to date and working. Especially, it was quiet! We think we might make this the Same-ol' for a while. I might say, having allergy problems this year, it is the first place in all my traveling that didn't offer a box of tissues in the room.

Room Tip: All rooms here seem equal.

My husband and I stayed at Eden Village in 2008 and enjoyed our time there so much that we booked it again for our trip last week. The management is different now, but the experience was the same: quiet, pleasant, and convenient. Last time we stayed in a cottage. This time we went with the motel because we needed two bedrooms (we have a child now), and a two-bedroom cottage wasn't available. The motel suite worked out perfectly. We had a kitchenette, which was perfect for preparing breakfast every morning. The Keurig coffeemaker was a nice touch. Everything was clean upon our arrival and was kept very tidy and well stocked with towels and toiletries all week by the attentive housekeeper. The property itself is quiet, set back from the road. The pond creates a peaceful and serene environment, and there's nice playground equipment for kids. Also provided are charcoal grills and picnic tables so that you can cook (or bring home lobster) and eat outside your cottage or motel room. Just a wonderful, convenient set-up. The only negative (but minor in my book) is that the bathroom could use some updating. The shower floor was worn and it looked like there was water damage at some point. But this would not prevent me from booking at Eden Village again. My family thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Room Tip: If a cottage isn't available, don't discount the motel. There are two-bedroom suites.

Our room was roomy, and included a kitchenette. The bathroom was tiny, but clean, and functional. Appliances and furnishings were dated but serviceable. Everything worked, except the internet service, which was weak to non-existent. The housekeeper kept our room clean and beds made. The location is between Trenton on the mainland, and the entrance to Acadia National Park. Our unit was in the building in the very back, which gave us a shared deck overlooking a large meadow. It was very quiet. The weather was unusually warm, and the tiny window AC barely kept the room comfortable.

Room Tip: We actually hoped for one of the small cottages, but none were available. The long building in the...

This place was our first impression of Bar Harbor. It was great. The office staff was very accomodating even when we got locked out of our cottage one night after dark. We stayed in Cottage 3 for two nights, a Friday and Saturday two weeks ago and it was very reasonably priced. The location was great for making it to Acadia Naional Park also, about 5 minutes away and nearly 15 min to downtown. I could have done with them being a little closer to downtown but it really wasnt that bad. Just be careful if you were out at the bars too long!! The cottage was neat, clean, quaint but i had some issues. 1. The room smelled like a campfire. 2. The shower is very small. I could habedone without the coat rack and closet for a bigger shower. 3. Very low budge security. Little twist lock on the door. I know its just me being me being from a big city wanting to have chains and heavy duty locks on the doors but i made it out alive so i guess the little twist lock works. Again, this was cottage 3. There are 4 or 5 others on the property along with a little motel in the back of the lot. They do range in sizes. There is also anice little pond on the property. Overall a good spotbut i would probably stay closer to town next time.

Not opulent so this doesn't even begin to approach that. However, if you like a no-frills clean comfortable hotelwith plenty activity for the family (stocked fishing pond, plenty of games, balls to throw, big lawn to run on etc.…) then this is an INEXPENSIVE place to stay. Not on the water (no big deal because the water so freaking cold) but there is a pond. Rooms are clean albeit dated. Nice clientele.

Price was about 1/3 to 1/2 less than most other hotels or cabins. Went many others on the way out of Bar Harbor, everyone wanted 130, I was charged $65. Stayed in the motel... was fine. Granted, not opulence but comfortable, pleasant and well run. Will come back with the family for a 2 room cabin.

Room Tip: get cabin and after dinner come here to relax.
