“Good location, great view!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2014

There are cottages and a motel. We stayed in motel. I was a tiny bit disappointed because I thought it looked better in photos. It's not fancy, but has everything you need! With the kitchenette we were able to save money by preparing some of our own meals. The room had a woodstove, sofa, recliner, king bed, kitchenette and bathroom. The view of Salisbury Cove is so peaceful! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck which is really close to the water.

Chose this business due to a review on Trip Advisor that was right on target. I chose a cottage (#3) which is closest to the water. The view was excellent and the cottage delightfully rustic. I arrived just as a storm was arriving but this only added to the ambience. The location is close enough to Bar Harbor to commute several times a day if desired and it was nice to have a kitchen available so that every meal did not have to be in town. Only met David (half of the husband and wife team) but he was most helpful and friendly. Now that I am home am wishing I was still there!

Room Tip: I recommend looking at the website and read the descriptions of each lodging module. I loved the co...

Spent 4 days here after a long review of available lodging in the Bar Harbor area. The pictures of the resort do not do credit for the scenery that is available off your patio. Stayed in hotel unit with fireplace and really enjoyed the quiet location and view everyday. (Even with the NorEaster hitting for 2 of the days). The owners were always available with advice on things to do and the fireplace in the unit was great during the cooler nights. Close to entrance to Acadia and easy drive to Bar Harbor for meals at night. The rooms are spotless with comfortable beds and lots of TV stations for wet days. Rock beach is within 20 step walk and was fun to see the low tide with seagulls dropping mussels from high above to break them open. Will be back again!

We stayed in the Seascape Suite Sept.27-Oct.4 and it was perfect! Please, do yourself a favor and look at Edgewater's website. The owners couldn't have been more helpful:from check in to helpful tips of where to buy fresh seafood. Our suite was 100% spotless, huge, comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped, bedding and towels were all very high quality. We enjoyed our screened-in porch overlooking the cove. Edgewater is close to town, Acadia and local restaurants but so quiet and peaceful. The grounds and property are kept immaculate and the view is so pretty.Yes, you have to drive to town, but we didn't have any problem with that, Bar Harbor is a very crowded, busy little town, kind of like a Northern Key West, so coming "home" to our suite was so nice.

We just happened upon the Edgewater driving toward Bar Harbor. We knew Bar Harbor was deadly expensive and all the cottages we'd seen online had been booked up, so when we looked at the two-bedroom cottage 20 feet from the water (at high tide), saw that it was clean and well-appointed, we signed up. The cottages are old, I imagine, but they belie their age by clearly having never been allowed to deteriorate. They are surely kept in good working order, and sport lots of nice touches like tongue-and-groove paneling and ceramic tile bathroom. At $150 we split the cost and had privacy, quiet and beauty we'd never have found in tony Bar Harbor. I just wish we were staying longer.

My husband and I visited a few days ago for our honeymoon. We loved the beautiful view of the bay, the quiet atmosphere away from the bustle of Bar Harbor, the clean facilities, and the friendly hosts. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back some day.

Spent 4 days at the Edgewater over the recent holiday weekend. Our cabin faced the cove and we spent some great time just sitting in the adirondack chairs listening to the loons, watching kingfishers and in general soaking in the wonderful peace and serenity of the setting. Following the two bald eagles flying (and fussing with each other) over the cove was a bonus. We enjoyed the national park and spent time in downtown Bar Harbor as well,,, both easily gotten to. Our cabin was clean, kitchen had everything we needed. We are planning to return next spring.

Room Tip: Check out the photos on their website to pick the right sized cabin or motel room.
