“good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

The room was worn down and there were ants in the bathroom. The location was very close to town which was nice. I would not stay here for a family trip but for just a friends weekend, it did the trick. Don't spend too much on a room here. My room was about $70/night and that is about the most I would pay to stay there again.

Stayed here twice in August for a week with family and two small dogs, the suite was big enough for family of four with a pull out bed - clean quiet for hotel that takes dogs.- nice shared access to regency hotel across the street where they have tennis and really beautiful pool and view with outdoor table service and tennis -when we come up here with the dogs we always stay here - not too far from Acadia

This was a nice hotel, with friendly staff. We though were triple sharing in the room. On arrival we found two great queen beds and an inflatable single bed in the room. This was different. It was a nice high one, but it was not set up. We were left to locate the bed somewhere in the room (standard for triple sharing it seems) plug it in, watch it inflate and make the bed. During the night the bed then slowly deflated. I ended up surrounded on all sides by semi-inflated walls. In the morning we brought this to the motel's attention. They naturally replaced the bed. Unfortunately they did not offer to set it up (to check that this one was working) or remake my bed. Once again this was my lucky task. That night the bed stayed up but and was relatively comfortable.

Other than that the little dining room downstairs offered a nice light breakfast and chance to chat to others who were staying at the motel.

The advantage about this hotel is that it shares facilities with the glam hotel across the road. (Another in the "Inn" family.) They have the laundry (coins required), awesome swimming pool and spa (hot tub) that are available to use while you are staying at Days Inn. It's a bit of a trot down the road, but it's there. After seven hours tucked in the back of our car I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in the hot tub. Looked very much like a local lobster when I got out. Unfortunately we had a foggy stay so the potential for awesome views was lost. The pool looks right out across the bay. Towels and lounge beds supplied.

Otherwise Days Inn was a nice budget hotel, with a good location in a very restful area. Lobster season was on so it was just a matter of where do we eat it and in how may ways.

The local town is touristy but plenty of shops to wander in and out of. A few good spots to grab a coffee and an ice-cream store that is mega!

Note: If you want to go for a ride on mopeds, make sure you book them in advance if you can. They are popular and book out quickly.

I would return here, though the hotel across the street for the extra cash is very tempting.

Room Tip: Go for an upstairs room, though you will need to be OK with the stairs to get your gear to your room...

We stayed at this motel for 2 nights in July. The location is very convenient to both Bar Harbor and Acadia Park - by making the reservation through Wyndham's web site, we got a good deal on the price, compared to other accomodations in the area. It's an old building and shows it in some ways: doors don't close firmly, there was an underlying (slight) mildewy smell, the bathtub drained very slowly. But the bed was comfortable, the room was furnished adequately and the lighting was better than most similar places we've been. The breakfast was only marginally better than others due to the addition of fresh fruit to the typical cereal, muffins, bagels and juice. Since we were only in the room at night, our needs were minimal and we felt we had a fair bargain. Certainly nothing to write home about but we would stay there again on the same type of trip.
