“Tasty Sandwiches!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

My husband and I went to Side Street Cafe last Monday for dinner. I got the Nomad burger with bacon, cheese, avocado and chipotle mayo and the burger was a black bean burger. Delicious! They make their black bean burgers there and they are excellent! My husband had a BBQ chicken sandwich with pickled cabbage. I had a bite and it was amazing as well. The service was excellent too. Friendly and accommodating. We ended up getting a mug when we left so that we could have a momento to remember the meal. We will definitely go back.

“Our Bar Harbor Favrite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014 via mobile

Hadn't been there since 2012, when we discovered it first. Ate there two days in a row, around 2 PM. Had the guacamole and quessidilla, which we split. Awesome! Fresh, tasty and generous. Same for the margarita! 2nd day we split a great spinach salad and Mac 'n' Cheese w/ lobster! A home run!

Bistro atmosphere not for everyone, but well worth it to get food that is actually cooked right before it is served, instead of microwaved from something made a few days ago, as other restaurants will do.

This is a hard-working joint that earns your respect, while nearby restaurants lazily exploit the tourists. We hate to choose poorly while on vacation, so we stick with the places that have the energy to make it worthwhile.

“Excellent Place to eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

Smart, Casual, good crowd, good food, good service and fast! In the evenings it is quite full. Seafood is presumably local and fresh, but Salmon?

“Side Street Seduction”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

First, it's real food, mostly from local sources. The menu is extensive and proves inclusive enough to handle vegetarians and carnivores alike. It is a little noisy and not an intimate place, however they do have a few out of the fray tables and bar seating if you prefer.

“Pass on this”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Not all there when it comes to bang for the buck. We went for breakfast and what they tried to pass off for eggs, sausage and home fries was a travesty. Eggs with shells in them, sausage held together with what looked like hay or straw and the home fries mashed together with russet potatoes, sweet potatoes, artichoke and a few others we couldn't discern. We left with our appetites and went elsewhere...... Oh, one more thing..... Turn the music down! We are having breakfast not attending a rave....
