“GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN BAR HARBOR”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

We were happy with our stay at the Bar Harbor Villager Inn. Our package included a dinner meal at the Bar Harbor inn and a harbor cruise on the Margaret Todd. Both were great. The location was perfect for walking to the shops and restaurants in town. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great. There was no extra charge for parking.

Yes, the location is absolutely perfect (including the proximity to the magnificent French restaurant across the street and the first-rate seafood place down the block) as the place is practically in the center of town. But the room was clean, comfortable and pretty, the breakfast was more than ample and charming, and the pool was clean, cool and lovely. For the height of late August, the price was very reasonable. We will definitely stay at the Bar Harbor Villager Motel again.

Ken B.

Room Tip: The second floor affords a good view.

We have been visiting Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park for over 20 years and have been staying at the Villager for the last few years. We find it to be, while some what dated, to be comfortable and clean. It is the most convenient location we have found for the activities we like.

Room Tip: Ask for pool side

Our first visit to Bar Harbor was fabulous...a great motel, The Villager, made it perfect. The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast, which was included, as well as the two meals at the finest restaurant in Bar Harbor, and a bus trip through Acadia National Park, was all part of a reasonably priced package. We will certainly plan on returning

We did a considerable amount of on-line research before choosing the Bar Harbor Villager Motel, and we were not disappointed. It more than met our needs, and we will definitely stay there whenever we travel to that beautiful area in the future. Their rates were very competetive, and the motels that were less expensive were not in locations we would have enjoyed nearly as much. We were amazed at the size of the pool for an intown location and took time to take advantage of it on a particularly warm Sept day. The staff was very accommodating with any request or question we presented to them. When we arrived, it was before check-in time, but they suggested that we leave our vehicle in their parking lot during our wait. That was a huge convenience for us, and we were able to check out the area and select our dinner spot. This motel is in keeping with a casual coastal facility without fancy frills...just what we wanted!

My husband and I have stayed at the villager on several occasions. Our last visit was in August of 2012. The location to downtown Bar Harbor is very convenient. It is a short walk to the waterfront, shops, and restaurants. The motel is two stories, so we always get a second floor room that faces the pool. The motel has had some recent renovations such as new curtains, bedding, and bathroom fixtures. This is an older motel, but it is clean and offers the basics. Don't expect a fitness room, flat screen tv, or room service. If you want that, you'll pay double to triple the price of the Villager. One amenity that we really appreciate is the free breakfast which is served in an adjacent building. During our last 3 night stay, we enjoyed coffee, juice, muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit (apples & bananas). There is a toaster for your use. This is more of a continental breakfast, but the food is good and it saves time and money when you want to start your day. Just remember that August is one of the busiest times to stay in Bar Harbor. Other hotel rooms are well over $250 a night,so make reservations early if you want to stay here.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is quieter, facing pool side is better than street side.

We pcked this motel because of its cvlose proximity to shopping and dining and because of parking ease. We were not disappointed. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the styaff was friendly and helpful. Even though located an a busy street it was quiet and we slept well.

The breakfast was as good as many other motels that we stayed in throughout the country and better than some.

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to future stops there. A great value.
