We were warmly received by Mira Monte staff from check in through our three night stay. Wine and cheese in the evening served by the staff welcomed us. Good conversation with guests and owner during this time helped us learn about where the guests came from and where they are going. It became our home while we shopped and toured Acadia National Park. Good restaurants were suggested. The breakfast with fresh blueberry muffins each morning and blueberry pancakes on Tuesdays were delicious. Although the main house closes the weekend (oct 27) the suites minus breakfast and maid services remains through winter when the full Mira Monte reopens in May. We had an excellent stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights in October during a short vacation in Maine. Selected as a result of Tripadvisor reviews, we were not disappointed. We were welcomed upon arrival and given a great overview of the B&B and of Bar Harbor. Our room while not large was sufficient for our needs with comfortable bed, private balcony, flat screen TV and gas fireplace,
Wine, cheese and occasional treats were served from 5 - 7pm with a seemingly endless supply. This was a great opportunity to talk to other guests and exchange restaurant information and places worth visiting.
Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a B&B. Waffles, eggs, cereal, baked egg dishes, muffins and more.
We enjoyed talking to the owner and hearing her stories of the 30 years she has owned Mire Monte and of living in Bar Harbour.
I love going back to Bar Harbour and when we go again it will be to Mira Monte.

Mira Monte serves large breakfasts by a hard working staff but the inn could use some TLC. Our room was very spacious but the decorating was dated. There were minor annoyances that we did not mention to staff; long running toilet, patio door that did not close completely. The common areas had so many throw rugs we could not roll our bags, the dining chairs felt as if the bottom was worn through.
All was clean, tidy and friendly with a good location.

We stayed at this Bar Harbor Bed and Breakfast for two night while on a touring holiday of Maine. The hotel is furnished in American Victoriana style, which may not be to everones taste but is interesting. The owner made us very welcome and provided much information regarding things to do in the area. Our first floor room ( The Newport Room ) was quite small and had lots of furniture in it, but was fine for a few days. It had air con and a small balcony with two chairs that overlooked the garden also a gas log effect fire that would be a handy feature on autumn nights. The bed was comfortable and the on-suite small but clean. Breakfast was included and we thought it better than most of the other American breakfasts we had when included in the price. Cheese and wine were provided in the evening if people wanted to meet other guests, but we did not try this. It's in a good location, five to ten minutes walk will bring you to all the shops and restaurants. Free parking is provided and we did not need the car at all during our brief stay.
