“Amazing suites, unbelievably good service”

This was our 4th time in Guam but our first time at the Sheraton Laguna. We usually travel with our family, but this time it was just my wife and I for our 20th wedding anniversary. We stayed in a suite and they kindly booked us into the 11th floor. The suite was just gorgeous, lots of space and beautifully appointed. 2 balconies with amazing views. It was also wonderful to have access to the Starwood lounge, with access to wifi, a fridge stocked with soft drinks, snacks at set times, as well as breakfast.

On our last night we were walking back to the hotel when it really started to rain. A car pulled up and the drive asked if we'd like a drive to the hotel. We told him how much we enjoyed the Sheraton and he said 'I'm glad to hear that, I work here'. He gave us his card and when we looked at it we discovered he was the general manager. On finding out it was our anniversary he sent lovely gifts up to our room. He then organised a transfer back to the airport. With a GM like Ben the Sheraton Laguna is in great hands!

We found the other staff also very friendly, particularly Natsumi at the front desk!

We were very grateful that because of my Platinum status, we were able to check in at 7am after a tiring overnight flight from Manila. We were given an ocean-facing suite and it was really awesome! We were also granted late check-out at 4pm! The location is a 10 mins drive from the main tourist hub, and I appreciate the tranquility, and transportation is not a problem if you drive. Even if you don't, I see frequent shuttle buses at the hotel itself. The hotel has an amazing ocean-facing infinity pool which is pure enjoyment! We also visited the Japanese fine dining restaurant, The President, within the hotel, which serves excellent Japanese cuisine too! It was an extremely enjoyable stay at the Sheraton.

My family and I loved it here. The service was okay, but it would be nice if the staff showed more interests in customers. It is a bit pricy but worth it. Was able to get sleep, but if your a light sleeper like me, then the request a room at the end or else you will hear your neighbor when they turn on the shower or flush the toilet. Room service was good. The location was great because it is next to a store and water park.The breakfast is a must! I would not mind staying here again on my next trip to Guam!

We stayed at this hotel in Dec 2011 and was clearly the worst Sheraton experience we had had. Having stayed at many Sheraton properties over the years this one was an unpleasant surprise. The hotel was pretty shabby, especially the rooms - fitting like lights, lamps, switches etc were broken or missing! Obviously we took this up with the GM and all that was forthcoming was a perfunctory repair and patch job and the explaination that since since the hotel was to be renovated soon, it was in the current condition!!
The hotel is a bit out of the way and the trolley one needs to take to commute to the main areas in not very convenient - especially if it is hot or raining. The wait is fairly long and the ride too takes time. A dedicated shuttle service to and from the nearest big tourist area would be a nice addition. No beach is also a downside though the infinity pool is pretty good and the view is also very nice.
The coffee shop is very nice for lounging around with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and nice shakes and coffees.
All in all not an experience we would like to repeat and hope they do the promised renovation quickly - else they are ruining the Sheraton brand!

Dear Alokkhetan,
First and foremost, thank you for returning to us. You return to us on Feb. 2012 despite of your horrible experience in 2011. You are absolutely right; we as management must act quickly to rectify specific concerns regarding our room condition.
The plan for refurbishment is true; however I am unable to confirm the exact period for the renovation.
Several efforts have been made to include replacing badly damaged carpeting from severe stains. In addition, instead of perfunctory repairs, we have started to replace hardware items such as the light switches that were very difficult to replace to something more that we can easily get on Guam because these were items customized solely for our property use and had to purchase off island. We have already changed several light switches in the guestrooms and their fixtures. Other various efforts made with the current management include regular preventive maintenance schedule of filters and cooling system. Several housekeeping matters such as replacing old linens and beddings with better fit to the mattresses, new towels and removing the blinds from the bathroom and replace them with frosted glass finished of our bathrooms are among the many changes that we are making as we wait for a final word on our renovation plan.
The beauty of Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort is its exclusive location, away from the hassle and bustle of the crowd. The serene and tranquil ambience that our location creates makes this hotel a perfect getaway.
Though away from the main strip for beach access and shopping, in terms of shopping all the hotels require for the guests to take the shopping shuttles to get to the major shopping malls. They are convenient as you wait for the shuttle to arrive because our waiting area for the shuttle service is at our main entrance, the foyer area where it is covered and with ample seats for your convenience and ease. Rain or shine, you are just a hop away to the shuttle.

Have stayed here several times and this one of the best hotels on island. Service is polite and good and the suite I stayed in was very good with a great ocean view.

They don't have a beach but the reality is Guam is small and you can be at the public beach in less than 10 minutes so this is not an issue as even in Hawaii most hotels are more than 10 minutes from the beach.

I had a rental car so no problem for getting around, most of guests are tourists so the tourist transportation works but if you are American then perhaps you will prefer a rental car.

Close to everything (the main area of Tumon is 10 minutes away) so this is not an issue as some might make it sound like.

I would recommend this hotel anytime to a visitor to Guam.

Old hotel but recently completely renovated and refurnished. Service was such a pleasant change to the usual US hotel service. Maybe because its so close to Asia and maybe because the staff was mostly Japanese. Polite, smiling, attentive, being there to serve the guest! Wow, it just made me realized how spoiled I got while traveling in Asia and how lacking was hotel service that I experience in mainland US. We had some problems with the room assigned to us since we were guaranteed the upgrade to the suite and didn't get at arrival. However, within next half an hour we were comfortably settled in beautiful suite and with very apologetic staff assisting us.
The breakfast was a full one, with hot and cold choices, and many fruits to choose from.
Infinity swimming pool is overlooking an ocean and very big, additional one for children shallow and hidden inland.
All in all, Sheraton as it should be.

Have stayed here 10-12 times in the last two years.

The location defines this place. It is out of the way, you have to take the crummy trolly or taxi to get anywhere- restaurants, shopping, decent beach. This hotel lacks a beach! Remember that- NO BEACH!

The infinity pool is lovely, the main pool ok, and another is closed.

The restaurants are ok and expensive- and there is no convenient break from them.

Most rooms have good views, although make sure you stipulate this when you book as there are rooms that overlook the tennis courts. The A/C works well in the rooms, but that's about is for positives. The furniture in the rooms is dated. A couple of times have found the sheets,,,hmmm,, not washed well.

Head for the big names on Tumon Bay before booking here.

Our restaurants have competitive prices with variety of theme cuisines to offer daily for buffet; otherwise, for light snacks, sandwiches and soups, our all day dining lobby and lounge, The Point am sure will be perfect for your needs with an ambiance you can enjoy while dining.
For most part, to get to the major shopping mall in Guam, taking the shopping bus is the best way to go especially for our visitors even those that are staying in Tumon. It is efficient and reliable.

I would love to invite you to come visit us again. We realized we don’t have the beach, but with our Infinity pool and the main pool as well as the Alupat Island, we have the Sheraton Adventure that you can spend your day snorkeling, kayaking, fishing or surfing. You just have to make the time for them.
I hope to welcome you back to us again at your leisure time.
