“Santa Fe Guam”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

Santa Fe hotel is Ok if you get it as a deal online.for something less than $65, otherwise you would be paying too much. The hotel is kind of old and needs re-furbishing. The end rooms directly facing the beach and overlooking the pools are the only one I believe are worth the stay there, but they generally want twice as much for these. If you get to your room and the bathroom has mold, complain and they might upgrade you to the end rooms.
Restaurant is super expensive, but with Shirely's right next door (like gigantic Denny's but with good food, cheap prices, and enormous portions), not to worry. Try the fried whole parrott fish.

So my stay had its ups and downs, pleasantness and vast irritations. Read and decide for yourself if there's value staying here.
Location: 3 stars.
Nice views, but very far from downtown. The bay is cleaner than Tumon and jellyfish free. They do offer roundtrip transport to Tumon at anytime for $15 You can also buy a 5-day trolley pass next door for $25. Shirley's Restaurant on the other side is about the same as the hotel breakfast buffet but doesn't add a service charge onto your meal.
Front desk: 5 stars
Airport driver: 5 stars (don't let his stern look bother you)
Housekeeping: 3 stars. The 2nd day we requested extra towels and she was very pleasant. The 3rd day she merely set a pile of folded clean sheets on one bed, leaving the dirty set on the mattress. She respected the do-not-disturb sign.
Hotel bar/: 3 stars. If you're drinking with locals, one of the two bartenders is really pleasant. If you have a happy hour drink and chasers with a haole friend and order with the bartender, wait for your food. The waitstaff who puts in your order will screw it up, charge you for the full-menu priced item, try to argue that it's correct, even when you walk him to the large happy hour poster which includes a picture and description, then blame the chef, and still add a service charge. At least the nicer of the two bartenders will apologize for the idiot and comp you a drink the next night.

All in all, our mountain view room was clean, but rundown but had a bayview. One lampshade was broken and the nightstand had a phone number painted on it. It's a much quicker walk from your room to the bay than the larger Tumon Hotels. But Most everything advertised on the website is outdated and not offered (closed fitness center, nightly bar/food specials), and the sink in the lobby ladies room was clogged for my entire stay.
But hey, it was budget...right?

My husband arranged my trip to Guam and choose Santa fe as the hotel. First of all, the hotel is very old and dusty. The tv is very old style and the picture was not clear. I hate the staff, because not only ugly or not good looking, but also stupid and incompetent. Maybe the owner pay the staff cheap, that is why the staffs were bad. Second, the food at Santa fe restaurant. It is garbage and expensive. It is not worth it at all to spent more than15 dollars for food like that. I feel they mix my Coke with water! Third, I tried to buy coke through the machine and it didn't work, they stole my 1 dollar! At the last night, I can't stand it any longer, I preferred waiting at the airport than spend time at Santa fe.

For another three days we stayed in Guam at the hotel Santa Fe, we could not compare with the nice fiesta hotel but the view was also very nice. The rooms are ok a little old. The carpet was old and dirty, it seems like they did not hoover anymore for a long time. The staff is ok but they do just the necessary. My husband and me we trie always to be nice, friendly and smily, but it was difficult to get it back. The hotel for the room and without food is a little expensive for our experience. The restaurant is expensive. But we had a great time and if you are not too sophisticated you will enjoy it. Thank you

Room Tip: The hotel is simple - the view is fantastic (Seafront) - the bar is nice, just on the beach, it is v...

This hotel is so outdated. The room looks old and there were tiny roaches. Around the pool, at night we even saw a rat so go figure...
When we arrived the Ac was down and guess what, it was down for the whole 4 days. Probably it never worked that year and they kept on saying it will be fixed soon but there was no intent of fixing it. Lukily in May it wasn;t that hot...

The only good thing about it, was the restaurant right next to it (not the Santa Fe restaurant)...I do not remember the name but they had some great meals and not overly priced.

Going back to the hotel, remember that it is far from everything and in the middle of nowhere.

For a short stay, I would recommend it just to save money and only if you are on a tight budget, otherwise, do not choose this one.

We stayed here for 2 weeks because everything else was booked up for X-mas and New Years. The service was O.K., and very inconsistent. The management was nowhere to be found when issues were raised, but the people on duty did their best with what they could do.

The rooms need to be cleaned, and we requested cleaning additionally about twice a week.

The laundry facility is used by the staff most of the time so machines are labeled as out of service even if they work.

Would stay here if the price was lowered.
