“Simply Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Upon arrival greeted by lovely hostesses. Given a lei and our bags whisked away so we could check in easily. Checkin was excellent. The attention to detail everywhere was much appreciated.
The resort layout was very interesting. Within a confined area it feels like there are plenty of undiscovered areas to explore. This hotel is a genius design. Our 6 night stay was great. to be honest I'm not too keen on big crowds but because the hotel pool design is broken in so many different areas it didn't feel too bad. We loved the adults only pool. We spent a lot of time down on the beach. There were always plenty of deck chairs with umbrellas around so it was very comfortable. The sea was glorious. We took out snorkels etc and actually swam with a turtle. Beautiful. I loved how the hotel staff would come around and ask if we needed any food or drinks. Every staff member always had a smile and actually made good conversation about our holidays. Very nice. We are a family of 4 and it was wonderful to let the kids go and explore without worrying. It gave my husband a I time to actually talk and even read a book. Lovely. The ice shave shack was a huge hit with the kids ,as was the water slides. In fact we had a daily ritual. We would go down to the new cafe and pick up breakfast, Muesli, yoghurt, pastries, fresh fruit and even hot breakfast if wanted. bring it back to our room and relax. WE would then get into our swimsuits and do 2 slides down the water slides. Then my husband and i would head down to the beach for a swim. Around 11.00am the kids would find us with their shaved ice and we would simply swim, read, sunbath, walk around the bays and really relax. Now that was a holiday! We didn't do the character breakfast as we had just had a week in LA at disneyland and had done it all there. We did enjoy "Off the Hook" a great bar to relax with some lovely sashimi and a maitai and play cards in the afternoon.
We had an afternoon in the Spa. This was at the level expected. I love spas and have been to many. This certainly was incredible. A beautiful quiet layout and the services were stunning. Worth a visit! My daughter loved the activities with the Teenage area. and my son enjoyed a few activities at Aunties beach house. Very well thought out. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was incredible. I loved all the beautiful details in the rooms. A very high standard. However next time I think we will stay in a smaller room. We didn't really use the kitchen at all as there was great food choices at the hotel as well as a great ABC store across the road that had cheaper readymade meals. We had a meal at Monkeypod across the road. Awesome!!!!! Also the Sushi Restaurant was excellent. We had only one disappointing meal which was at AMi Ami, the hotels flagship restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff very obliging but we had long wait times and they got my main wrong twice. Then they cleared my husbands plate away while I was still eating. In our country that is really rude. almost feels like you are being hurried up. Maybe thats just different customs but we came away feeling rushed. Expensive prices should mean you can sit and enjoy the surroundings, i would have thought.
However an overall experience at this resort was amazing. We definitely want to come back in a few years. WE just really relaxed and after 2 weeks in LA, it was perfect!

We had a blast here. From the slides to the chocolates they leave every night. This place rocks restaurants on the hotel were very good. We also did the character breakfast which was buffet style but very good. Many activities on the beach from snorkeling to paddle board to kayaking. Make sure you go to aloha stadium on weekend for the swap meet , you will save a ton on souvenirs. Aunties beach house is great if you have little ones and the kids love it. Hope to come back to this amazing place soon.

As soon as you got there you knew you in for a treat, we just got off the Celebrity Solstice, 11 Days from Ensenada, this was the perfect spot to unwind. The grounds were awesome, done only like Disney can do, the day time has its own look and the night is a practically a light show surrounded by all the pools. I love they decided to give the adults their own pool and bar, nice touch, been overlooked for years. The room was fantastic, 1 bedroom with a full kitchen and a super market 10 minutes away, were able to relax at our own pace. The staff was super friendly, you got a Aloha from just about everyone in the Hotel. We ventured outside for Germaine's Luau, bus picked us up and dropped us off at the Hotel, the show was typical Luau and the food was very good, our Luau guide was Cousin "Fun Size" funny little guy, if you get him, you got lucky. We have to go back, too bad it took 13 hrs to get home, if you don't mind the long flight it is a must see.

Room Tip: We had a Golf View Room, 14th Floor, Sun in the AM and Shade in the Afternoon. We also rented a car...

This is the perfect place for kids. My daughter loves seeing the Disney characters at the breakfast or in the resort. She loves going to Aunties Beach House to dress up as a princess and to dance. The water park and pools are great. The staff are amazing. Disney sure knows how to run a place! The beach is great for toddlers because there is beautiful sand and the water is protected from heavy surf. We will be back.

Room Tip: We have a toddler that naps. It made it nice to have a one bedroom suite.

This resort exceeded every expectation we had! Our two bedroom Villa was Amazing. It was spacious and finished elegantly. The staff ( cast members ) were always very helpful and courteous. The beach and lagoon provided lots of water fun, paddle boarding, snorkelling, kayaking and of course relaxation. The lazy river within the resort was without a doubt our family favourite and the two waterslides were surprisingly fast and longer than I expected them to be. Oh ya...The infinity hot tub and pools... All awesome! AMA AMA restaurant was top end, our server was fantastic, the food equally good. The sunset from our table at AMA AMA was picture perfect! The character breakfast was just enough Disney without taking away from the Hawaii vibe. The Disney luau was great but short, and to be honest we preferred it more than the Paradise cove one that was a 5 minute walk from Aulani. I'm struggling to find words to relay how this vacation at Aulani was. I guess the best part... We plan to return every year!

This hotel is located on the best lagoons for kids. Very comfortable rooms for 2 adults & 2 kids. Great service & fun to see some Disney characters. Love the pools. The kids splash area is awesome. And Auntie's Beach house is priceless so that the adults can have a nice dinner or lunch away from the kids for a few hours. And my kids had a fun time without us too. Very secure drop off & pick up.
