“Peaceful and Happy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

I know friends in Hawaii who have never been here. When I lived here it was one of my favorite places and I never go home without visiting there. The temple and the grounds are beautiful. There's a cool black swan in the lake. If you have kids, go in to the gift shop and buy some fish food so they can feed the fish. It's really quite a spectacle when they are all competing for the food and very fun for the kids (even bigger kids). It did not used to cost anything to get into the cemetery that you go through to get to the temple, but now you do. It wasn't very much and certainly not much for how great this place is.

“Ring the Sacred Bell!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

I came to the temple specifically for the Bon-Sho (sacred bell), which I love. The temple grounds are beautiful, if a little worse for wear due due to the amount of traffic the temple sees. Easy enough to find, decent parking and certainly worth the $3.00 admission. Driving through the cemetery to get to it should put most folks in the right frame of mind (respectful).

A real Japanese Buddhist Temple that is absolutely breath taking. Lots of ground to explore as well.

“Beautiful but the ponds are under maintenance.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

It is all the way in the back. Beautiful setting. Kids enjoyed ringing the bell and feeding the fish. But the ponds are empty. Was free to get to and $8 to enter. Well worth it for party of 4.

“I felt like I was in Japan!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

This is an actual Buddhist temple. There are people that come and do their meditations in front of the 9 foot tall Buddha inside the temple. The structure of the temple is amazing! Also, the plants and the trees are just breathtaking. They truly take care of this place. There is a $3 fee, but it is cheap for the actual experienc of this place.
