“Great food in a casual atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2011

Hawaii has a lot of excellent restaurants. We found the Kalapawai to be one of our favorites. Fresh fish, good service in a casual and friendly atmosphere in a more laid back part of Oahu.

“GREAT PLACE, GREAT FOOD,RELAXED, PERFECT HAWAIIAN EXPERIENCE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2011

I was visiting Hawaii for 2 weeks in March with my girlfriend and family, We decided to try it out, we ended up going back 8 times for different meals. ALL the sandwhiches were fantastic, as was the soup and salads! Great atmosphere and a real relaxed Hawaiian feel with locals coming in for there lunch, we saw many return local customers coming in everyday.
Very worth while making the effort to eat here, you wont be dissapointed.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2011

This restaurant is modest looking but the food was a outstanding. The salad was excellent as were the fish entree and pizza. The coffee was the best I have ever had anywhere - it was remarkable. We came back another day and had takeout which was also very good. Highly recommended, an easy walk from where we were staying at Hula Breeze Bed and Breakfast.

“Good food and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2011

The good and the not so bad.....

Friendly and helpful hostess/manager. We were greeted warmly as we walked in and asked if it was our first time. The answer was "yes" and then she spent time explaining our choices etc. Very helpful.

The person taking our order behind the counter was the exact opposite..... very unfriendly and not so helpful. She seeme impatient with our inexperience in ordering there.

Food selection: There was a lot to choose from. Both my husband and I had very good meals.

Atmosphere: Cool, relaxed and had some great local art on the walls. Nice, clean bathrooms are always a plus and worth mentioning. Like the idea for evening tapas and wines... GOOD VIBES!

Coffee/Dessert/Breakfast area: Husband and I grabbed some outstanding muffins for the next day's breakfast.

Parking: Ample on street parkiing and they have a small lot with about 10 spots
