My wife and I stayed at this bed and breakfast during our 2 week stay in Hawaii. We stayed 4 nites on Oahu and 7 nites on Maui. Our entire trip (excluding on night on Waikiki) was in B and B's. For those who do not know this Hawaii has passed a bill that does not allow B and B hosts to "cook" breakfast. We knew this before going but when you get there it makes for a very distinct "bed and breakfast experience". I think "lodging and muffins" would be a better description. We have stayed at seveal bed and breakfasts in Canada and half the experince is the home cooked meal and spending a mealtime with the hosts. If you stay at bed and breakfasts for the same reason do not stay in one in Hawaii. Hawaii is beautiful but for your money I would stay in a hotel an meet some knowledgable locals.
With respect to this particular B and B it was the least enjoyable of the three we stayed at in Hawaii. I think this would have been different if we had met the hostess. Other reviewers indicate that they quite enjoyed their stay when they met her. Our three night stay included a door sign greeting (in all fairness we arrived very late) a single room suite in desperate need of renovations or at least updating, a plate of food that went mouldy on day two, a bowl of fruit that did the same and clearly unwashed bedding (indicated by foul odor not present at other b and b's). We tried to meet the hostess one last time before leaving and found a local doing construction at the back of the house who told us the local beaches (two blocks east) are the best on the island. Based on our complete tour of the island that is certainly not the case. Most beach access from the b and b are rock walls or no beach at all when tides are high.
