“Amazing sunsets”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2014 via mobile

Our room was located where the lanai faces the sunset. It was so relaxing to sit out there watching the sun set over the beach. The rooms were clean, but the decorum a little drab. Lots of great activities, although they were a bit spendy. The breakfast buffet was really good, but really expensive. If you have a car, check out some of the local eating establishments.

This is the only real hotel on the North Shore. It has great views, with a very nice swimming & snorkeling lagoon. On the other side is a great surf spot called Pool Bar Rights. They have recently redone the hotel & added a very cool place called "Surfer, The Bar". They have famous surfers come in and "talk story". They also have musicians play there. Although it's a pretty big resort, it has a casual, laid back, surfer sort of vibe. There also is beautiful little chapel that sits on a small cliff overlooking the ocean. They have wedding ceremonies in the chapel. There are a couple of hot tubs around the resort, kiddie pool, & a big family pool. Nice little pool bar that overlooks the surf spot. Have stayed there twice & can't wait to go back

Room Tip: If you like to surf or watch others surf, get a room that looks out over Pool Bar Rights

Fun hotel with a snorkeling beach right outside. Beach volleyball courts, a place to rent snorkel gear, a golf course, a tennis court, outdoor activities such as horseback riding and surfing and several food options at the various restaurants. Great venue for a wedding, a family reunion, a honeymoon or even a friends trip. Sunsets by the pool were amazing! Can't wait to go back. I stayed in a hotel room in the main building but the villas are also nice. They are spacious and have full kitchens and laundry which is great if you have kids or are staying awhile. There's a Foodland grocery down the road so a rental car is recommended. Also there are fresh produce stands along the road on the way to nearby towns.

Whether you want to horseback ride along the beach, kayak, surf, bike, golf or just hang at your choice of multitude bays crunching on your delicious shaved ice, don't think you can do better than Turtle Bay. Been to Oahu more than 25 times in my life, stayed in many places from 1 star to 5 star, but don't think I ever had so many options for activities from any one establishment.

A couple of so-so restaurants and one pretty good beachside cafe balanced by a wonderful one, an average pool scene balanced by an amazing gym w/ great equipment and views to die for, the plusses far outweigh the minuses. No matter where you stay in the hotel, all rooms have oceanfront, unobstructed ocean views as the hotel sits on the edge of 3 bays. Also, beach villas and beach cottages are available, although they were unavailable during my stay. The best deal might be the junior suites that are at the end of each floor, and offer more than adequate square footage for our family of 3.

If you're a newbie at golf, the Fazio Course will be right up your alley. The Palmer Course will give experienced golfers all they can handle. All in all, A 5star vacation at 4star prices!

Room Tip: studio suites are located at the end of each floor and offer spacious room for family of 3. All room...

My husband & I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Oahu HI August 2014. We stayed the full week at Turtle Bay Resort. Beautiful grounds, rooms were spacious with great views and the staff is exceptional! Vic made us feel like family. :) Aimee, & Spencer at the "Adventure Desk" both were a great help at suggesting things around the resort to do. We definitely want to return to Oahu and will be staying here when we do.

Stayed at the famous Turtle Bay Resort at the end of July. We had great weather for the one week we were there. We figure we stay at North Shore during this trip since we have been to Aulani and Hilton Hawaiian Village in the past. The resort was nice- it had a lot to offer. The room was nice and updated- only complain was our fridge smelled like fish- I figure the prior guest went fishing and put their bait there. I complained about and they cleaned the fridge but that did not help. They finally replace the fridge for us. I want to thank the young lady who checked us in and got the fridge change cause her male counterpart didnt get the job done. Our maid- JULIE- was awesome- had our room clean and ready to use everyday. The concierge employees were knowledgeable and gave us tips- also coupon to Waimea falls.

We tried the food in the resort- like most resorts- the food is a hit or miss. Pa' akai was definitely a miss- food was alright and overprice. The waiter suggested the POKE- BIG mistake- very salty- its no ALAN WONG'S but the pricing is. You are better off eating at OPAL'S THAI in Halewa or the small restaurants or food truck outside the hotel.

The pool is heated and my son enjoyed it. The beach is clean but since you are in Hawaii- its open to the public- even the pool what it looks like. We took advantage of the hikes on both side of the hotel. We did a horseback riding tour. The employees there were great. My son enjoyed his first horseback riding.

The hotel is far from honolulu, which was nice to be able to venture around north shore and take advantage what the area has to offer. Enjoy the food trucks and local restaurants- Especially Teds and Opals Thai.

THE SUNSETS were amazing when the clouds cooperate.

Room Tip: I would say all room has an oceanview.

We spent a week at Turtle Bay. My favorite day was spent learning to surf through the company at the resort. Such an amazing group of instructors & a day I will never forget. I really enjoyed getting to snorkel at our own private beach at the resort. We stayed in our own private villa, the sunsets were amazing & the accommodations were top notch!
