“Love staying here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

This was our third stay at Turtle Bay Resort and we love the relaxing, laid back ambience of this resort. On other trips we have stayed in the hotel however this trip we stayed in a studio villa with our son. Staying in the Villas was a great choice as we were a stones throw from the beach and the villas are very comfortable with everything you need for a weeks stay.
The resort is beautiful, there are some renovations going on but these didn't bother us. It is relaxing but there are also loads of activities if you need them. We went paddle boarding, snorkelling, kayaking and walking. Sitting around the pool is a lovely outlook, especially as the sun goes down. This place is not cheap and you pay more for the villa but we will definitely be back for a fourth stay.

A best kept secret at Turtle Bay – learn to make your own Leis at the flower shop on the Pool Level.

I wondered if real flowers were still used in making leis. The florist said “yes” and that I could buy it or learn to make them. I thought that was an awesome experience. The florist walks you through the whole process, which takes approximately 1 hour. She was very patient and informative.

There was just a small ceremony where you exchange Leis with a kiss.

If you have an hour to spare and would like to make a Lei, check out the Turtle Bay florist shop on the pool level.

This art form should be better advertised and showcased in the lobby.
Thank you for this great experience!

It's a resort to relax and get away. If you like total peace....make sure ALL construction is complete BEFORE you book. While still beautiful, the construction noise....scaffolding and constant in your face obstructions.....the prices should have been lowered accordingly during this work.

Room Tip: If you want an ocean view, book an ocean front with ocean view. Their thinking of ocean view and yo...

We spent two nights on the third floor of the east building, since we requested not to face the pool or the construction, and we preferred morning sun rather than afternoon sun. The room was lovely, the grounds were beautiful and the hike along the coast toward the banyan trees and the pillbox was terrific( we wore sneakers, but flip flops would have been fine. ). Breakfast was great, though ridiculously expensive, particularly for the buffet . We had dinners at Lei Leis and the Kula Grille and they were not memorable - for truly outstanding seafood (but no atmosphere), go into Haleiwa and eat at the Grass Skirt Grill.

We've travelled to Hawaii 2 to 3 times a year the past couple of years. The last time I came here was a year ago, yes late review. You are paying for the location the North shore is where you want peace and quiet. All the rooms are ocean view. They have the best sunset in the island. The lagoon is nice for kids and adults..yes the restaurant or eating options is limited But they have all American menu, lol..service is great..we really enjoy staying at this resort. My Family's favorite.

Room Tip: Ask for the lagoon side.and higher floor.

We rode the bus to Turtle Bay Resort from Honolulu. Lovely windward/north shore bus ride which gives you a view of the fishing area and local who own homes on the ocean.
Arriving at the resort we walked through the spacious entrance, passing avid golfers, honeymooners, couples, sets of girls on holiday, yoga fans and at the sound of the roaring waves.
Lovely layout, good selection of spa services including hairdresser. Shop that was pricey, local stand with authentic crafts, helpful staff.
Best part walk along the east beach towards the wild beach and harbour wall. Be careful of SHARP rocks on this wall and DO NOT TAKE KIDS for a walk on the rock wall.
Walk along and hope to see seals. This is a gazing exploring and strong swimmer beach.
Best beach bar in Oahu here at Turtle Bay. We had a wonderful lunch and the service by John was very pleasant and relaxed. Will try the restaurant next time.
The airport buses and tours DO NOT LIKE to come here, so pre-arrange
with the hotel for a pick up! LOVELY POOL Area.

Room Tip: Didn't sleep here. But NOT FOR KIDS for more than the pool and well behaved above 10. Great for...
