One strong positive note, all of the staff here are very nice. They were some of the nicest I have encountered during my travels.
Overall a nice hotel, but the rooms look very, very dated. Instead of drapes, this property uses these ancient sliding wood shutters(think of sliding closet doors that have mini, permanent wood slats in them that do not block all light). They are very clumsy/noisy/awkward and look like they have been used for decades.
This property uses two sheets to cover the down comforter instead of the preferred duvet cover like most hotels use. The sheets themselves feel very polyester cheap like you would find in a sub $100/night hotel. All laundered items from sheets, comforter, and towels smell really musty/old. Not sure if it is their detergent or age of the items but this needs to be addressed. Also the carpet feels dirty/old and could use a replacement. I did not get a feeling that they were very clean and I stay in many hotels yearly.
Breakfast was average- there was an issue with fruit flies throughout the breakfast area. I wish I were exaggerating(yuck).
We had dinner at the Ola restaurant. Nice view, but it was some of the WORST FOOD on Oahu. Such a nice location, I wish I could say the food was edible, but I cannot. We would have rather had dinner from one of the shrimp trucks(at a fraction of the price). This restaurant has two speeds: slower and slowest. We will NEVER return to this restaurant despite the convenience.
Parking is very, very scarce here and we stayed post peak season. We had to park towards the outer limits of the lot every day. This was not an issue during our previous stays, but it is now. I can only imagine what it's like during the peak season.
I hope that management can address some of the issues I reported from the perspective of this business traveler on vacation.
