“Hidden trail is amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

The state park is pretty and nice but its a quick visit. But there is a hidden gem so if you're in the mood for a good and rewarding hike then make sure to go to this park.

There is a trail that starts behind the small lookout structure at the top of the park. It's a pretty well traveled trail and was easy to follow up though it did take some good memory to remember the way back so be aware. It's muddy and steep at times so good boots are a must! It's about an hour and thirty minutes to the top of an amazing peak in the middle of the valley with incredible views. You'll know it when you see it. Be aware of quick moving weather as this could be dangerous with any kind of adverse weather.

“Don't miss this amazing site”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

This is a state park and a not to be missed place. It's very close to the airport (about 10-15 min) so we stopped on our last day on Maui since we had a late flight. The scenery is just magnificent. It sits in a beautiful valley and is a large formation that is covered in green and rises up out of the valley. Very hard to explain. You just have to see it for yourself. There is also a pretty stream that you can access from several parts of the park and the local kids were jumping into pools and getting cooled off. You can't actually hike in the normal sense of the word. There are paved paths and stairs all through the park. If you climb to the top you get the best view of the needle itself. A great place to spend a couple of hours and the only cost is $5.00 to park.

“Amazing Scenery , caters to the lazy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

By far one of the greenest lushest places I've seen in the area, lots of amazing streams and waterfalls, and great view points to see the needle! After reading some of the reviews around here I would assume its like a backcountry hike, Though everything you walk on has been paved. The $5 fee per car to get in is very reasonable considering the ammenties located in the park! Great for anyone, lots of area for your younger children to run lose!

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

The state park and the Iao Needle was one of my favorite things in Maui. The whole property is beautiful and lush. The needle is very majestic. There were people swimming in the pools below the needle and the water must have been freezing, because it was very cool in the whole park. Definately worth a visit.

“You must experience this attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Iao Valley (Needle) is an amazing attraction. I highly recommend it. I went there twice in the last week. It is a testament to the great marvels of nature. There is an energy and peace that you will experience being in the presence of this valley. A must see when visiting Maui.
