Owner description: If you are truly adventurous, like the wind in your hair and the thrill of discovering a side of the island that only a few will see... this wet and wild snorkel excursion, Dolphin Discovery, is for you! Ocean Rafting Tours typically go to the Kanaio Coast as well as La Perouse, past Dolphin Cove, where a pod of spinner dolphins live. Along the way, we almost always see the endangered green sea turtles and during the months between December and April, the awesome humpback whales. The weather dictates our snorkel sites and destinations. We snorkel at two or more spots. The possibilities include the marine preserve Molokini, the rugged Kanaio Coast, La Perouse,Olowalu, Turtle Arches, and the beautiful Coral Gardens. In between our stops our crew will share their knowledge of the ancient history and cultural practices and whatever nature and her beauty have in store for us, you can be sure it will be exciting! (Licensed for 71 passengers, we will take only a small group for maximum comfort with no more than 45 passengers per excursion.)We serve you a continental breakfast featuring fresh bagels with cream cheese, jams, tropical fruit, Kona coffee and juices. Once we get to our second snorkel site, the crew fires up the barbeque for a delicious hot-off-the grill lunch. Lunch includes; hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, served with all the fixings and Maui Potato Chips along with macadamia Nut cookies for dessert. We feature an open bar of beer, wine and sodas. All of your snorkel gear and instruction are provided. Disposable 35mm underwater cameras are available for purchase on board and we have optional SNUBA dives for an additional $59, to the instructor.

“Good boat & crew on a basic snorkel charter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

My wife and I took the Maui Magic Hawaiian Catamaran today as part of our honeymoon trip. Overall, the trip was excellent. The boat was clean, the crew very professional and courteous and the length of the cruise - 5 hours - made for very value added experience. The boat is - as other reviews have suggested - large and comfortable. It was also a light travel day so there were only about 20 passengers and the 4 crew members. Captain Carol was very knowledgeable and shared information on the history and geography as we went. Crew attended to guests requests for photos, beverages, food, etc. The price for the trip was $110 / per person which included breakfast and lunch. The food was as advertised in the brochure - breakfast was bagels with cream cheese / jam, sliced fruit and coffee or sodas and lunch was bbq on the fan tail with burgers or hot dogs. There was a bounty of chips served for passengers but not much in the way of lower carb items for passengers (save eating your burger or dog without a bun). We had good time in the water snorkeling and quality equipment - our fins fit great and we paid the additional $5 for a wet suit top which was nice in the cooler water temps and also helped shield our backs from over exposure to the sun. The overall experience was great. If you are looking for finer dining or a fancier "booze cruise" you might wish to look elsewhere. This was a clean, safe, quality experience for everyone on board. The crew was especially helpful to two passengers - one that got sea sick and a second that boarded with crutches. Fun was had by everyone who joined in the splash jumping contest off the side of the boat and the food / wine / beer lunch service left no one hungry or thirsty. Thank you to the crew for a safe and very pleasant experience today on the water.

“A must go tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

On our recent trip to Hawaii planned in detail various activities on the islands. In Maui one of the must go tour is a snorkelling tour to Molokini. The concierge of our hotel recommended a tour with Maui Magic and have not regretted the choice. The boat has the ideal size, taking up to 50 people and has snuba option for additional price. We saw many dolphins, swam with turtles and saw the incredible variety of fish at Molokini. After the last dive a delicious barbecue with cold beer until the Maalaea Harbor. A great day.

“Fun time snorkeling with Maui Magic crew!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

We had a great time with the Maui Magic crew!

The boat itself was large, comfortable and smooth. We saw a lot of the other boats which were overflowing with families, however the Maui Magic boat was comfortable with ample space for everyone to enjoy the boat comfortably.

The crew was a blast - very knowledgeable, personable and fun.

We were first time snorkelers, so it was a new experience for us and I don't have other locations to compare the actual snorkel to. We did see 2 types of dolphins, turtles and many fish in the 2 sites we visited. The Molokini site was a little lackluster, but the turtle area was really fun. They also offered snuba for an additional cost.

Added bonus -- we got breakfast, snacks, open bar and a great hot bbq lunch.

All in all, a really fun morning!

One tip: bring a sweatshirt or something warmer for the initial boat ride. The tour begins early in the morning when it's not quite hot out yet, especially factoring in the ocean winds.

“Father and daughter snorkel time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

I would 100% recommend Maui Magic snorkel tour to anyone looking to snorkel in Maui. They have one of the fastest boats for these tours and we went to Molokini and Turtle town as well as another (can't remember the name sorry) and my daughter and I had a blast! We're both good swimmers and I believe that is pretty necessary but if you aren't the very friendly and accomodating staff would give you a floatation belt or a boogey board to help you and ease your mind about the deep waters. It was a beautiful place to snorkel or snuba and we saw a couple sea turtles which were the highlight for my daughter this trip. The dolphins we saw were also amazing and swimming right beside and in front underneath the boat. The 5 hour early rise boat tour was well worth the time and money. They also offered a light breakfast with bagels and burgers for lunch and beer if so desired. The staff was fantastic and Bob even gave my daughter a sea shell he found at the bottom of the ocean from previous which was over and above. Kudos for making our Maui trip unforgettable!

“Great time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012 via mobile

We had a great time snorkeling Molokini, saw some dolphins, and of course turtles. Snorkeled one other site near Makena Landing. BBQ lunch was great. Staff was great too. The boat was definitely not crowded.
