On our last day in Paradise, we decided to go back to Paia again since we visited it shortly on our trip to Hana a few days before. I stopped at a wonderful antique store, bought some really great items and asked the owner where to eat. She suggested the Paia Fish Market and I'm glad she did. It was the best place we ate in all our trip to 3 Islands in Hawai'i. The food was wonderful with great choices...very affordable. The town is a very interesting and worth the time to explore.

On our last night on Maui, we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat at the Paia Fish Market. After placing our order (it's a counter order style establishment), we didn't have to wait long for our food to be ready. Three of us ordered the Mahi Fish and Chips, and one ordered the Ono Fish Burger. The fish and chips were excellent, and we each got a generous serving of Mahi (4 pieces), which were cooked perfectly. I personally didn't care for the tartar sauce provided, but I prefer my fried fish with vinegar, which was readily available. The Ono Burger was grilled, and it had an great taste to it. Be sure to ask for the burger with the coleslaw on the side, as they will serve the burger with the coleslaw on the burger.

Overall, a great place for a fantastic meal -- perfect for your trip back from Hana.

We actually ate here 3 time on our recent trip of 7 days. It was excellent. My wife said the fish tacos were the best by far of any she's ever had. The blackened in a skillet mahi was as good as any cajun meal I've had in my many visits to New Orleans. Our son who won't touch fish had the chicken each time (grilled or teriyaki) and didn't complain that we kept going back. Casual and laid back atmosphere was fun. Fish and chips was the other thing we tried, hands down better than the places we tried in Kihei. Can't wait to go back.

We grabbed lunch here before heading up to the Haleakala National Park. Our timing was great--we got there between the first and second lunch waves. The food was WONDERFUL! I don't know how they season the very light breading on the fish, but it was outstanding--slightly spicy, delicate and crisp. The fish was firm, fresh and delicious. Good fries and a nice, chunky cole slaw came with our plate lunches. No surprise that this place is always busy!
