Owner description: Maui Bike Tours on Haleakala and Tours of the Road to Hana. Ride a bike downhill for 25 miles on Maui's best bike tour. Aloha, so glad you found us! Here at Maui Easy Riders we specialize in two different types of tours, Downhill Bike Tours along the slopes of Haleakala and Exclusive Tours of the Road to Hana (this tour is not on a bike). Our bike tour can be booked in a group or as a private tour. The Hana Tour is always private, exclusive to you and your group only. On the downhill bike tour we ride custom made bikes (Worksman Cycles) 25 miles and 99% of the whole ride is downhill. The bike tour is entirely on paved roadways and there is an escort van that covers your back the whole time you are on the bike. Our tours are completely guided, both owners Billy and Billy guide the tours, on occasion we do take days off and we have excellent guides that fill in part time for the bike tour. We are pretty much always available to answer any questions you may have either by phone or by email. We do run the longest bike tour available on Maui. Others may say the same thing, but we have a tape measure available for you to use while you are with us, just in case you wish to measure it for yourself. Honestly and seriously, we run the best bike tour on Maui and we don't see that changing anytime soon. If you're looking for a tour that does not herd you around and guides that truly love what they do, then look no further. We are easily one of the top 10 tours on Maui and one of the top 10 things to do on Maui! Most people try to saw their car in half if they don't have a bike, just so they can go down Haleakala on two wheels. That's how cool our tour is. Please call us before you try that! We offer our tour at 9am or in the afternoon at 1:30. Sorry, we are unable to pick you up from your hotel at 2:30 in the morning to see the sunrise. You will just have to "sleep in" on your vacation. The cost is $99 per person or book a private tour with up to 8 riders for $600. Those are unbelievable savings, call now while we still have our tour in stock! If you are under 12 y/o we cannot take you on our downhill bike tour. Check out our webpage for other restrictions. If you are interested in our Private Tour of the Road to Hana, "that tour is not on a bicycle", please call or email us through our website. The Private Tour of the Road to Hana is by car. The Road to Hana Tour is exclusive to only you and your particular group whether it is 1 or several people. The tour goes to many hidden and out of the way places that you would other wise most likely not see without a guide. Please feel free to call for more details.

“Great Experience - Amazing Views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

My wife and I took this tour on 10/11 and really enjoyed it. We were the only ones on the tour with the Billys and they were great guides and very knowledgable about the island.

One of the guys guides on a bike in front of you and the other drives the van behind the group so no other cars can approach the bikes.

It is fun, safe, and a good blend of exciting/relaxing. You can go as fast as you feel comfortable and the guide senses that speed and slows down or speeds up as appropriate. The views from the top were the best we say on the entire trip as we could see our resort in Wailea, West Maui, and Paia all from the top.

Would recommend this trip to couples and families and I think a wide range of ages could have fun on this tour.

“pretty sweet ride, man”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

We had a great time with Maui Easy Riders. Steven and I are not fond of early morning wake up calls, so we were glad to find a tour that started at 9am. Pai'a is a quick hour from Lahaina/Ka'anapali area. Great little town. We love supporting small businesses - customer service was terrific. If you don't want to be herded down the volcano as quickly as possible, definitely go with Maui Easy Riders.

One last thing - I had copied down the wrong date, but they were very accommodating and able to get us on a different tour that week. Definitely a highlight of the trip.

“Enjoyable, Fun and Easy-Going Trip Down the Mountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Billy and Billy (our guides) are fun and laid back. Our trip down the volcano was fun and their guidance made us feel very safe. The day we went down, the sky was super clear, with hardly any clouds. Our guides were very well informed and described numerous sights, native plants and different things to see while we were on maui. They were super laid back and very nice.

My wife was a bit scared at first, she never liked to ride fast on her bike before, but after a few minutes, she was zipping down the mountain. There was never any pressure from the guides to go fast. They had the slowest person set the pace, following the guide, and the rear guide followed in the van with our belongings, shielding us from passing cars.

“High point of our Maui vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

If you are only going to do one thing on Maui Mae it a trip down Haleakala with the two Billies. This is a well run event with a complete emphasis on customer satisfaction and safety.

Have no fears you will have a great time

“It's all downhill from here (and that's a good thing)!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

This was our first activity we booked while in Maui, and definitely one of the highlights! The Billys were awesome - funny, informative, and very conscious of everyone's safety, experience level and fun factor. It's the perfect combination for an "adventure" type tour - they're not so controlling that it's not any fun for experienced riders, but they take enough precautions to set people's minds at ease if they're a little uncertain. My husband and I have done some mountain biking before but flying down the volcano on smooth paved roads was still a definite rush for us, and the less experienced folks in the group had a great time too.
I agree with the other reviewers - skip the sunrise tours the other groups offer and go with these guys! We had a much smaller group of riders, a longer ride, and weren't half-frozen and still asleep when we reached the bottom like the other tour groups!
The van trip up the mountain includes a tour of a couple little towns on the way, and of course the scenery was breathtaking on both the van ride and whizzing by on the way back down. Be sure to go back to Paia after your ride and eat lunch at one of the yummy organic restaurants! Thanks Billy and Billy - the trip up and down Haleakala was totally awesome and a wonderful way to kick off the rest of our week in Maui!
