Very attentive staff, nice room, great location —just a few yards to the beach and within easy walking distance of many eateries, cafes, etc. We'll be back.

The Paia Inn rocks. Plain and simple. We stayed in Kauai and Maui and booked the Paia Inn for the last night of our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier with the last night of what was the most amazing trip of my life. We arrived tired, with luggage in tow (main reason we stayed in Paia our last night was its proximity to the Airport). Nina, a manager at the Inn was amazing. She stowed our luggage while we went off and explored the Road to Hana. She even offered to ship our snorkel gear back to the mainland if we had too much carry-on baggage! This place is NOT a resort. Its a tiny little hole in the wall but what a nice hole it is! Very Modern Hawaiian (loved the decor). The room was gorgeous - like staying in a fabulous old friends place. Nice bed, tv, fridge, AMAZING shower with Maui-made products in a cool dispenser - my husband even commented! Cute common area with a computer and I-Pod rockin' some tunes. I will say if you are looking for a place to crash for a few nights while you explore the Road to Hana and this part of Maui this is the place to crash. If you are looking for a huge resort with pools/restaurants etc. this ain't it. If you do stay here, Mama's Fish House is just down the road and one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. However we are glad we saved it for our last night in Hawaii. All in all a great little boutique hotel that created a fantastic memory of Paia and of the last night of the best trip of our lives. Mahalo, Paia Inn...thanks for the memories and keep doing what you are doing! We hope to return someday to your little paradise....

We recently spent a week at the Paia Inn on our honeymoon. The staff is the nicest and most accommodating hotel staff I have ever dealt with. When we arrived Tina gave us a choice between 2 rooms and even offered us a glass of wine. We stayed in a deluxe room (#14) that had an outdoor shower and was completely quiet. It was far enough off the street that we could not hear any outside noise. The beds are super comfortable and the shampoo/conditioner is amazing. There is a quick private walk to the beach and a huge supply of stuff to borrow,...chairs, boogie boards, beach mats, coolers, snorkel gear, etc. Breakfast is provided by Penguini and had plenty of options. There is even a little store inside the hotel lobby in case you forgot something or just want a new outfit. Michael, the owner, is very visible and super friendly. The staff is so laid back and friendly that you feel like your hanging out with your friends. The hotel location is awesome. Right in Paia town with TONS of restaurant options and a quick drive from all the other parts of the island. We had an awesome week and hope to be back someday!

We are fans of this hotel. It's cozy and homey, clean, comfortable and you can't beat the location. The town of Paia is a walkabout town with great reasonably priced restaurants and real personality. Nice beaches are within walking distance and Baldwin Beach Park, our favorite, within minutes (driving). The staff couldn't have been more helpful with all kinds of suggestions of places to see along the coast. The only downside was the noise level, better insulation would have been appreciated.

The rooms here were awesome. They were large, modern, and had a full kitchen. The walk to the beach was easy, and the town of Paia was filled with great restaurants. I really like the flatbread pizza place next door (they also make gluten free.)

We stayed a few days at the Pa'ia Inn in May. Upon arrival, we received a “free” upgrade to the junior suite (in the main house streetside) which was a bit bigger than the original room due to the extra little living room, but it is a very cramped space in general, especially the bathroom area (clean and modern, though—really loved the locally-made toiletries that are also sold downstairs in inn shop).
A couple beefs:
Even though the hotel claims to be green, the radio was constantly playing in the empty upper lobby.
Breakfast was supposed to be ready on the back patio by 7 (they should correct the in-room bulletins that say as of 6:30am), so we waited around for breakfast to be delivered from nearby Anthony’s Café across the street. Unfortunately we had an agenda for the day, so when it hadn’t arrived at 7:30, we left to just get breakfast on the way somewhere. The same thing happened the next day, so we were very disappointed with the breakfast set up.
The worst part of our stay was the noise from the street. The Inn is next to a Chevron gas station, not to mention located on the main street of the town, and they love diesel trucks there. Loud vehicles were roaring through every few minutes, night and day. Plus, some adjacent business, I think the gelato shop below the inn, was obnoxiously blasting loud music throughout the entire day. Even with the windows, blinds, and curtains closed, the noise was unbearable, and we got little sleep the 3 nights we were there. Although we had booked for a whole week, we needed to go somewhere more tranquil. WARNING: the garbage truck comes at 4am in the morning! Unbelievably, this little inn in a bohemian beach town was louder than our big city apartment back home, so we headed to one of the more cookie-cutter resorts near Lahaina, which we were much happier with—6th floor, ocean view, huge peaceful studio, and 40 bucks cheaper per night.
Best part of the Pa’ía Inn: the hospitable, always cheerful, helpful staff, who did try their best to make us comfortable and happy, but in the end, we just required a different type of hotel for maximum relaxation. They did have a gorgeous beach behind the inn and plenty of equipment to be loaned for water activities and recreation. The parking situation is limited—only 4 or 5 spaces available for 6 or so guests, so there is some valet tag to play if the spots are all occupied. You leave your key with the staff, and they move the cars around. However unlikely it is, I think it’d be worth tearing down the gas station to provide a small parking lot. In the end, the price did not match the value: for $240 a night, one must be able to count on a good night's sleep, at least!

This place was great all the way around. It's exactly like the website describes and more! The rooms were very nice and super clean. It was great to have a chest full of beach stuff to use for free! The only issue I could see is that paia itself is somewhat far from the "touristy" areas. We had tickets to a luau in Lahiana and the drive was a long one. The town of paia was much nicer and so much less of a tourist trap than the other towns we visited on Maui.

This place is great for the road to Hana and Haleakala - both fun but nauseating drives!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The postcard perfection of Maui’s North Shore (white sand beaches, raging waterfalls, stylish cafes, and world-class surfers) just got even better with the opening of the Paia Inn. This beach town boutique hotel seamlessly blends modern amenities with the historic character of its building. In a nod to the town’s plantation trade days, the building’s exterior has retained its charm with tin rooftops and rustic hues; yet, the interior mixes contemporary island furnishings with the chic lushness of the W Hotel. ... more   less
