We had a very nice meal and evening out here, located in the center of the ranch/cowboy town of Makawao, and one of the nicest restaurant in the general area. We reserved via Opentable, and were quickly seated upon arrival. It is a very busy and popular restaurant with the locals, with a noisy buzz of conversation. Lots of folks knew one another and were visiting among tables. The atmosphere and dress were relaxed, and service was good. Menu had a variety of choices primarily Italian in focus, including pastas and pizzas, as well as other traditional mains; and prices were reasonable.
There is a nice special for two on the menu that allows two people to split one salad, split one pasta, then one main each, and then split one dessert, all for $60 if memory serves. Portions were good despite the splitting, and this made for a very nice dinner at an attractive price.
This isn't the sort of high end place that you have in the seaside resorts, but it also doesn't have the high prices either. We will definitely return when next in the area.
We also dined later in our trip at sister restaurant Casanova in Kahului, also an enjoyable and recommended experience, but with more of an upscale city vibe.
