Awesome place. Loved breakfast on the lanai while watching breaching whales just off shore. Turtles just out front every afternoon. I loved the low key laid back environment. For me way better than a big resort.

I would stay here again.

Booked unit #205 from a Tuesday through a Saturday. Room had a great view of the ocean. Amenities were as described. This condo is an older establishment. The furniture is dated. We did plan on spending a lot of time in this unit and it met our needs. If you are looking for luxury, plan to spend more and book somewhere else. It is located a couple miles north of Lahaina. The scenic drive to and from the airport is about 45 minutes depending on traffic.
The staff was friendly and eager to help.
I did have a disagreement with some of the staff unrelated to cost or amenities. The manager made sure to speak to us and try to resolve the issue. There is no business center common to hotels you may have stayed in. They have a policy of not printing out anything other than boarding passes. If you need a printer for anything else, you are out of luck. I needed a luau voucher printed out from email, which led to an interesting exchange between the staff and I.
I would consider staying there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side have a great view of ocean. The sunsets are spectacular.

We had a one bedroom unit (#204) in the Anthurium building for 2 weeks in April 2013. The ground floor unit was easily accessible (If you are on another floor you need to go down one or up two floors - no elevator). The one bedroom was adjacent to the common walkway and since there is no air conditioning, the shutters on the windows needed to be open to take advantage of the cool evening breeze. This had the potential to be noisy but as long as other occupants were considerate when leaving/arriving during bedtime we did not notice a big impact. The building is far enough away from the road to reduce that impact especially those morons with straight-pipe Harleys! Towels were changed every few days and the unit cleaned. The power knob on our toaster was broken but a new toaster was provided in short order. Lots of humpback whales and daily visits from large numbers of giant green sea turtles just off the lanai. Bruce, the concierge, contacted us on the day we arrived and the next morning provided a continental breakfast while providing an overview of things to do in Maui. Very helpful answering questions and arranging any tours we desired. The amenities provided (2 pools, hot tub, BBQs (gas and charcoal), chairs and lounges, ice, printing boarding passes for the flight home, etc.) were convenient and appreciated. Monday music with Kody and mai tai Fridays a nice touch and good chance to meet others.

Room Tip: Go for the one bedroom units in the Anthurium Building. They are farther from the road and offer a...

Our vacation was 9,500 miles roundtrip and cost $6,700 all said and done. Two adults and a 16 yr. old son who stayed in #209 for approximately 10 days for our annual vacation. Three diamond rating from AAA...that's a joke! From the outset there were problems; no key for the deadbolt, housekeeping ran out of washcloths and we went two days without them even though they knew about it, the first time we used the washer machine it was broken--it would rinse without spin cycle leaving clothes in a tub of water to wring out by hand, the bathtub would backup with water and had to be plunged frequently; constant everday, all day long noise from circular saws and hammers pounding upstairs due to condo renovation the entire time. Everyday was a continuation of a terrible experience we paid top dollar for; one day a drapery cleaning service truck appeared in the parking with a large, portable dry cleaning machine--the truck and the machine both ran all day long causing plently of noise and exhaust fumes to creep in our unit 30 feet from the parking lot, on Wednesday mornings for four hours it was grass cutting, grass trimming, leaf blowers all morning, the next day time for the carpet cleaner van to move in and clean carpets creating more fumes and plently of noise, only 30 feet from our windows. Every single day maintenance had to run a leaf blower cleaning the parking lot and even the carpeted area outside our window resulting in hours of torture by noise. When machine noises subsided it was constant noise from housekeeping outside our unit 209 up and down the steps and (where they kept the carts for linen) with loud conversations like "HEY, HOW YOU DOIN MAN?" The washer machine was six months old under warranty but wasn't scheduled to be fixed until AFTER WE DEPARTED, causing us to go a 100 yards to their public laundry room. Because of all the contractors coming to work on the property, parking was a problem. Furthermore, parking is a problem even at night and you just had the feeling you had to be prepared to park down the street whenever you rolled in. What really makes our blood boil is that management knew and scheduled all of this activity and did not inform us beforehand when we made our reservations three months earlier--they gladly took our hard earned money. The manager was consummed with the upcoming owner's annual meeting EOM April and May and ordered a "deeping cleaning" of the units the owners would be staying in creating tons of noise, exhaust fumes, and a game of mental gymnastics with the consumers. We left Neolani exhausted and disappointed. For sure, we had plenty of activities outside of the condo, but at some point we had to just hang out for the sake of rest, of which, was impossible due to the nonsense going on during our stay. The manager never once acknowledged any of the concerns or issues with us, she never once knocked on our door to express her comments or interest in the quality of our stay at Neolani. Housekeeping left a pile of dirty sheets and towels on our chair in the living room for three days and ran the vacum cleaner once during 10 days stay, Housekeeping dusted once, my wife and son are witness to all of these things which left me excasberated and humiliated. Moreover, we spoke with other vacationers who experienced the same or similiar issues and had the same complaints and concerns. I used to be a property manager, I know customer service and scheduling around tenants. One day there was a knock on the door--it was an exterminator at #209 to do a spraying treatment asking us to leave our unit for at least an hour so he could treat it! The one bright spot was doing our activity arrangements through Bruse Catalano at Neolani; his expertise and vast knowledge of contacts resulted in very high quality activities such as helicopter rides, cocktail cruises with whale sightings, a spectacular luau known as The Feast, beach visits and snorkelling, etc. Without him and his service, the trip would have been a total, miserable loss. Activities outside Neolani through Bruce were the only bright spot of the trip, he's the diamond in that organization, use his services if you stay at Neolani. I intend to pursue this further through AAA, AARP, and the military office at Ft. Shafter to get Neolani put "off limits" to all military personnel. I also intend to write to Gov. Abercrombie from Hawaii. Neolani was a disappointment, consider spending the extra money and going elsewhere for quiet times, rest, relaxation, and in the end, peace of mind.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms by the parking lot, don't even consider it.

Noelani owners and staff strive to offer excellent service with aloha and we are disappointed that your stay was not as you expected. There are a few points that I’d like to address in this posting.
1. The deadbolt is for use while staying in the condo and does not have a key for when a guest leaves the condo. This is the normal practice for all condos and hotels. Safety of all guests is our utmost priority, so using the deadbolt while staying in the condo is the best way to insure your safety.
2. We strive to have our owners upgrade their condos in order to offer our guests a newly renovated space. The unit that was being renovated was a newly purchased condo and has never before been in our rental program so while we should have known their renovation schedule we were not fully informed of the timing. They were at the end of their renovation during your stay and we are sorry that there was a bit of noise that bothered your stay.
3. The front desk supervisor and rental manager were both informed of your washing machine situation. We were told that your wife was fine with the few days left of your stay to use the laundry center. Here on Maui, it can be a few days before we are able to have an appliance repair engineer fix the appliance. The repair company informed us that they would be there on the Friday prior to your departure. When they called on Friday to inform us that they could not make it until the following Tuesday, I personally left that message with the offer for housekeeping to assist you with the use of the laundry center. I appreciate your comments about Bruce as we all strive to make sure our guests are happy with their stay.
Our staff is trained to say hello and greet guests as they see them. Hey, How You Doin’ Man is certainly not the typical Hawaiian greeting. We will be working with our staff to simply say Aloha with a smile!
4. Grounds Noise – All properties regardless if they are condo complexes or hotels must mow their lawns. There is really no good time to do that and that is why we have signs posted around our property to let our guests know about our lawn maintenance timeframes. Our intent is always to do this while our guests are out exploring our Island.
5. Housekeeping – We offer a service every other day, the final clean and all guest supplies are included in your room rate. For a 10 day stay, you would have received two towel exchanges and two complete maid services. Each condo also has a vacuum for those incidental times that sand may be tracked into the condo. We have no communication documented from you on your guest feedback slip that your maid services were not complete. Our office is open daily for 13 hours a day and we could have easily rectified missing dish cloths or laundry on a chair and vacuuming.
We take the opportunity to deep clean our condos twice a year between our busy season and the next season for the benifit of both our guests and owners. This is quiet work. We do steam clean the carpet which is no louder than the floor waxing and steam cleaning machines in a contained hallway in a hotel. Unfortunately, the one time we used a new drapery cleaning company, they brought an older truck. After one hour we noticed the fumes and stopped their process. It was distressing for anyone in the area.
6. Noelani offers oceanfront breezes – clean and safe condos that transport you to a piece of paradise that is simply aloha at its best. We hope you come back to our Island to truly enjoy the Aloha spirit that exists here.

Second stay but this time our bedroom was by the stairs(209) and we were constantly awoken by people coming and going, talking, heels on stairs and since at parking level even was an occasional gathering spot. The windows are just glass shutters so very little to stop any noise. To top things off the bed was hard and there is no other ventilation or AC. The LR was spartan and the cheap Internet rarely worked without constantly losing a connection, the wifi would not connect outside or to the bedroom nor was there any for people lounging outdoors. The resort is maintained well and the views from the pools and lanais are awesome! Even spotted whales!

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms by the stairs, 209-210, 109-110, 101-102 etc.

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at the Noelani resort on Maui. We were there from Ap. 1-7, 2013. We had a room on the ground floor in the 2 story unit. Our Lanai and room overlooked the ocean. We could see whales in the distance and green sea turtles feeding in the rocks below. The facility is older, but very clean and very well kept. The pools and hot tub were great. Grilling was available near the pool or you could cook in your condo. There were special activities on a number of the nights down near the pool. Bruce was very helpful in scheduling some seperate sidetrips for us. The Feast at Lele was awsome! What a nice laid back place to spend our vacation. One of the nice things was that there was no one trying to sell you a condo or time share. If we do ever travel to Maui again, we would be certain to stay here.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here at this lovely property, which was recommended to us by a friend who has stayed at this property for many years. The location is superb, and the staff is very friendly. The amenities (pool, bbq, laundry, etc.) are great. The stunning views can't be beat, and it was so relaxing to always be able to hear the calming sound of the ocean waves. I highly recommend this property! Excellent value!
