My wife and I reviewed several places to stay for our first trip to Maui before deciding on the Napili Bay Resort. We stayed in condo 201 during mid-May. This condo is reportedly one of the most popular condos at the resort. The condo met and exceeded our expectations in all respects. It is right on the beach. The view from the lanai was wonderful and served as a great location to eat a quiet breakfast and enjoy a late evening cocktail. Even though the condo had limited space, it was comfortable and well furnished. And to be honest, we were not planning to spend much time in the condo with all the activities we wanted to enjoy on our trip. The condo furnished boogie-boards and snorkeling equipment that we used on the beach. The kitchen area was well stocked with eating/cooking utensils and electrical appliances (e.g., blender). We took the opportunity to cook out a couple of evenings using the gas grills on the grounds. I was initially concerned about the condo not having air conditioning, but this was never an issue. There was always a steady breeze that filled the condo with comfortable air. I will also say that the Napili Bay Resort website for this condo contains several still pictures and videos of the condo/beach area that were “true” representations to what we found upon arrival. Booking the condo online was very easy and there were no hidden costs or surprises. We received a wonder fruit basket from the condo owner upon our arrival.

We also found Napili Bay to be a very pleasant beach area. I have read a few negative comments about the beach being too crowed and overrun with children and families. I don’t know if it was the time of year we visited or what, but we did not observe these types of things. In contrast, we found the beach to be relatively quiet and very relaxing. In fact, I was sort of struck as to how the beach area tended to clear out during the late afternoon and was very quiet in the evening. I had also read comments about the waves being too loud to sleep at night. I will admit that a few nights the waves were fairly loud. We found it helpful to shut the wooden shutters on the windows to dampen the wave noise.

Overall, we highly recommend the Napili Bay Resort, and we can’t wait to return.

My husband and I spent a week here. Overall, we had a great time and would most likely return...considering we have stayed at some of the four stars luxury resorts on the island as well. We were happy with our room. The pictures on the website look just like what the room looked like, which I was happy with. It was clean , felt spacious for the two of us, and had everything we needed (kitchen, TV, movies ,etc.).
What we liked:
*We love Napili and plan to spend our next vacation there
*The room overall
*The owner was friendly and prompt
*The beach chairs, fins, boogie board provided on the lanai
*We weren't oceanfront, but still had a nice view and privacy
*How close you are to the beach was great!
*The gift basket from the owner of the room upon arrival
*The condo feel--much more relaxed than a hotel room, I think. Plus the in-room
kitchen allows you to eat in if you want and gives you more free time to do other
fun activities rather than just go out and eat your whole vacation which can take
up a lot of time
What we didn't like:
*There was construction going on in the room next door. We spent most of our
day outside, but it was frustrating in the morning when we were trying to sleep-in
or get ready or eat breakfast out on the lanai. I will say the owner did give us a
discount at the end of our vacation (he actually wasn't aware that the
construction was going on because he didn't own the condo next to us--so not
his fault) but that still required that we had to listen to
noise most days and spend time calling the owner on our vacation.
*Our shower drain was clogged when we arrived so we had to call the condo
owner about that as well. He did have the housekeeper call us right away--we
had to make arrangements with her as to when to come fix it.
*We did have one cockroach in our room that we caught. But what people need to
understand is that in Hawaii where it is humid and you leave you windows and
doors open, you're going to come across some bugs.

As you can see the pros outweight the cons. We had a great vaction and will most likely return to this condo. Let me put it this way: I will return to these condos before I
return to some of the luxury resorts. I liked the feel of this condo, how close it was to the beach, all the amenitites, and I think it is a great price. Well worth it!

We stayed in condo 107 at the Napili Bay. It is a beautifully remodeled condo and felt like home. The condo has everything you would need including a plasma TV with a DVD player which we used every night. The view from the lanai is gorgeous. We explored many beaches on Maui and agreed that Napili Bay is one of the best beaches on the island. It is not very long but doesn't feel too crowded and the water is a beautiful shade of green/blue. While snorkeling we saw turtles and dolphins as well as a nice variety of fish. Everyday at high tide we would go boogie boarding and had so much fun. There is a small shopping center nearby that has Maui Tacos and Subway which made it easy to pick up food and eat at the condo for lunch or dinner. We could have easily spent a month there!!! We enjoyed visiting Maui for the first time and I think it is important to be aware that there is alot of driving to get to the various sites and you will hit traffic near Lahaina no matter what time of day it is. I can't wait to go back!

We stayed in Maui in two places--a few days in a resort and a few days at this condo. While the resort was fun in it's own way, the condo was just a level above in terms of comfort, relaxation and beach access. We loved it. For as small as it is, it is laid out well and has everything you need. We loved the porch overlooking Napili Bay. THe sunsets are just amazing. The beach is tremendous and the area near the condo is well cared for. This condo was a nice little piece of heaven in paradise.
