All I can say is WOW!!!! We have never been to Maui before and this was the best experience ever. My husband and myself went there for our anniversary and I would have to say it was ten times better than our honeymoon!! We loved the Mahana. We stayed in room 409. What a beautiful room! Everything was updated. We loved how the room had all the windows from ceiling to floor. We felt like we were on a ship in the middle of the ocean. We liked the fact that all the rooms are ocean front and not ocean view which is usually all we can afford at the big name resorts. We flew almost 6,000 miles away and the last thing we wanted was ocean side view or garden view. We liked the Mahana because it was nice and quiet and it's a great place for couples or honeymooners. It's very romantic. The beach is not big and you can't really swim in the water in front of the hotel, but you can go down several yards and swim. We snorkeled everywhere. There are so many places to snorkel all over Maui. The lanai was nice and big and we had sunset dinners there. Oh yeah, we highly reccommend the Haleakala bike ride downhill for the adventurous and unscared and snorkel to Molokini crater. We also took a sunset cocktail cruise and what a difference it made on the water!!!! Also, if you have lots of money, go to Mama's Fish House in Paia. It was expensive, but worth it!! Go get some macdamia nut pancakes at the Gazebo restaurant in Napili at the Outrigger....awesome!!! We will be back to Maui and we will stay at the Mahana!!!

Just came back from a LOVELY trip at the Aston Mahana. This was my first time renting a condo on Maui and not staying in an actual hotel ( my other trip to Maui I stayed at the Hyatt Kaanapalli- which is absolutely amazing and left pretty high expectations for the next stay). The first night we were there they put us in a newly remodeled studio room with breath taking views, good size room and kitchen (room702). I was absolutely amazed at the view, when they say oceanview boy do they mean it! The condo's are right on the water with a couple of feet of grass leading to the sand. The balcony had a lounge chair along with table and chairs to watch the sunset from or just relax and have a nice glass of wine... You can see the island of Lani to the left and the island of Molokai to the right from any of the rooms. The second night I asked to be put on the bottom floor studio where we would then be able to just walk out the sliding door and onto the sand..( keep in mind that there in not enough room in front of the condo's to actually lay out in the sand, since the water breaks so far up, but a beach area can be accessed by walking about 300 ft in either direction). This room wasnt nearly as nice as the first room... It seemed smaller in size and was in need of some interior updating, none the less it was still nice, espically being able to just open the sliding door and walk outside. On the 5th night we were moved once again to room 305 a 1/1 (for the same price as the studio) and once again was amazed at how nice the room was as well as the views. We initally were only supposed to stay for 4 nights and extended the stay to 7 nights since it was such an awsome place. Never went to the pool area so cant really comment on it only that I've seen better and was told that there is currently no spa but there was construction going on and that a spa was being added as well as a remodeled enterance area/ check in .
I hate to keep rambling so bottom line is I was very pleased with the condos and would definately stay there again! A nice quiet place with AWSOME views!

After reading so many positive reviews, I was worried that my expectations would be too high and that my girlfriend and I would get the one room that was a lemon for whatever reasons. However, as soon as I opened the door to our room, #1016, all my apprehension was washed away. The room was a one bedroom, with the bedroom locked for the owner's use only, so essentially we had a studio with a bed that folded down from the wall. The room was clean, neat and updated, no fancy frills but everything I expected with a balcony view of the ocean that stretched from lahaina and the island of lanai to the south past molokai to the north. The condo resort was short on amenities and the pool area was nothing spectacular and the tennis courts were astro turf that was a bit worn, but still useable. Maui has so much to offer though, that unless you planned to sit poolside all day, the Mahena was the perfect spot to have as a home base. Some of the best snorkeling we did in Maui was about half a mile south of the Mahena--even saw a couple giant sea turtles--and we were centrally located between Kapalua and Lahaina. Also, Black Rock and the Sheraton was a couple miles south and we had drinks poolside there at sunset a couple days, which was perfect. If this review comes across as negative, that's not the intent; I just want to point out shortcomings to travelers who expect 5 star accomodations. As an aside, Pacifico's in Lahaina is the perfect place to go for a romantic 5 star dinner on the beach. If you're looking for an inexpensive no fancy frills place to stay, the Mahena is it, and I'd definitely go back there again. If you want more inclusive amenities, you may want to otherwise consider a place like the Sheraton.

When I first entered our condo at Mahana, I became speechless by the VIEW. It's as if you are on the ocean. Every room at Mahana faces the ocean. I never closed the blinds through out our stay. You can always hear the sea and the birds singing. it's wonderful. The condo we stayed in (#712) was beautifully furnished. It had been remodeled recently.Full kitchen, beautiful kitchen counters,..., everything was great.
The staff at Mahana are friendly too.
One other thing I loved about Mahana is that the beach right in front of it is not good for swimming, therefore it doesn't get crowded and you can enjoy the peace and quiet. If you walk for about 10 minutes alongside the beach to the south, you'll reach one of the best snorkling areas, and a few meters further down one of the best beaches and waters for swimming. If you don't want to take the walk along the beach(which is great, some times dolphins perform for you) you can take a three minute drive and park right in front of Kahekili beach park.
Anyway, to cut the story short, my husband and I loved our stay at Mahana and we'll definitely go back. Oh, and before I forget, watching the sunset from your patio at Mahana is fantastic.

This was the greatest vacation, since my honeymoon!! In Florida. The ASTON MAHANA is very accommodating. We had a nice room 404, more like a condo, on the ocean. At night we could open the blinds and see the waves from the ocean, and also hear them. The kitchen is a full kitchen, with dishes, pots & pans, & utensils, dishcloth, and towels. There is also a dishwasher, with detergent. We went on a submarine, that was a lot of fun, to look at life deep in the ocean. The Royal Lahaina luau was great!! Hawaii is so beautiful. We are already trying to plan our next trip. There was childcare available at Kaanapali shores next door, that helped a lot, so my husband and I could have some alone time.
