“GREAT SERVICE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

We recently stayed at the Aston Mahana and were delighted with our beautifully decorated unit which overlooked the vast ocean waters that laid directly in front of us for viewing. Much to our delight we watched sea turtles and whales emerge from the waters. It was thrilling to spot them when they came to the surface!
Our trip was totally enhanced by the marvelous service given by the concierges there at the Mahana. Susan totally went all the way helping us set up our itinerary and making reservations for us at the various activities we decided to do. She provided us with all the information we needed along with maps and times it would take for us to get to our various destinations. What she did was so helpful and made our vacation so much more enjoyable. You couldn't ask for more!!
I highly recommend the Mahana for a lovely place to stay along with the great expertise of the concierges. The locality of the Mahana is also to be commended as it is in the Kaanapali area near the town of Lahina.
Sincerely,
Shari

Not the big time hotel, perfect for seasoned travelers who want incredible views and fewer other guests. If you are looking for a non tourist hotel- you found it. Very clean, small pool area but the incredible view from each room makes up for it.

Aloha and mahalo for choosing the Aston Mahana at Kaanapali and posting your comments about our "top secret" location. You are absolutely right that our oceanfront location steps from the quieter northern end of Kaanapali beach is ideal as it gives our guest some privacy and of course some of the most spectacular oceanfront views you'll ever see. Our relaxing pool/jacuzzi deck also features complimentary gas grills and every unit here whether studio, one bedroom or two bedroom in addition to the beautiful ocean front views has it's own private lanai, fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer for added convenience.
We're also a short walk or drive away from many shopping and dining options when the need arises.
We very much hope you can return to the Aston Mahana at Kaanapali where our entire staff awaits to show you the Aloha Spirit again.

Mahalo and have a safe and happy holidays.

We spent a week at the Mahana and had a great time. Beautiful accommodations and setting. Great sunsets. Staff very helpful. Come time to check out, we extended our stay another week. Would recommend the Mahana to anyone.

Room Tip: Try and get any of the "Premium" rooms for even betting accommodations.

We booked our stay at the Aston Mahana through Donna Bender of MauiCalls, who is an Aston Specialist. We ended up on the top floor -- the view from those rooms is just unbelievable. The weather was gorgeous, and we saw plenty of whales. We even saw a monk seal, which we're told are very rare. We surfed, kayaked, ziplined, and of course did plenty of relaxing in the sun in between. And we were thrilled with how easy it was to find vegetarian food. I could go on and on about how great everything was. Of course, the highest compliment we can give is that we're planning to return as soon as we can! We can't imagine enjoying any accommodation more than where we stayed, so we have our sights set on the Mahana again. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the more amazing the view!

Aloha and mahalo for choosing to make the Aston Mahana at Kaanapali "highly recommended" and of course we're thrilled to hear you want to return again as soon as you can. Yes, every unit here at the Mahana due to our second to none location steps from the quieter end of norhern Kaanapali beach has absolutely breathtaking oceanfront views of various marine life (sea turtles year round, whales between December and May or so and yes the occasional monk seal), colorful rainbows and beautiful sunsets appearing with a backdrop of Molokai and Lanai.
The entire staff here at the Aston Mahana at Kaanapali very much looks forward to showing you the Aloha Spirit again on your next visit, hope to see you soon.

Mahalo and have a safe and happy holiday season.

The Aston Mahana was perfect for my daughter and I. The staff was friendly, the units were clean and very quiet.
The view is amazing and shared by everyone. In 1 week we sat on our patio and saw whales breaching, turtles, and a pod of dolphins.
The only issue I had was the pool is shaded a great part of the day, and we could have used a few more items in the kitchen.
Another impressive feature was that they had devices pool side and attached to the spa for people with disability.
It was a wonderful holiday, I would highly recommend the Mahana.

We (four female family members) stayed for three nights in unit 105, which was a ground floor, 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit. Location was fabulous - stumble out the door and onto Kaanapali Beach. The owner of this unit had provided absolutely everything he could think of to make our stay comfortable (there was even a boogie-board). Fabulously well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of storage, should we need it. Unit was quite spacious enough for us, although the fold-out bed did cut down on available space. Mirrored walls made the unit seem bigger than it really was. Furniture was all dark-wood and Oriental in style, not my taste, but beautifully done nonetheless.

The location is brilliant, with the local bus-stop almost at the front door and the ocean at the back. Staff were helpful (especially Jean who provided extra blankets when the night turned chilly). One of our party (me!) stupidly placed passport in the safe and locked in a wrong number. Staff recognised the stress this caused and even on a Sunday took steps to rectify problem. Thank you. There is also a travel guide/concierge on duty until 4.30 pm, so you can book tours without leaving your hotel. Excellent wifi connection was available from our room, so all campers were happy. Pool area was clean, as were the BBQs, from what we could see. Not enough time to use all the amenities, such as shuffleboard and tennis courts. We appreciated an ATM on the premises.

We had been told that it was impossible to go anywhere without renting a car, but we found that a mixture of day and half-day trips were the way to go, as some of them picked up from near the hotel; for the others, well, we just quickly became adept at using the local bus service which took us everywhere else we wanted to go (although it does not run after 8.30 pm).

There is no restaurant in the complex, although the Honua Kai next door had Dukes and Kaanapali Shores next door had a restaurant for which we were given a 10% discount voucher. There is a large supermarket within strolling distance, and the bus delivered to Whaler"s Village, where there were at least 3 large restaurants and a few smaller ones, or to Lahaina, which is full of restaurants (Try the Lahaina Fish Co).

The resort fee for this establishment was only $15 per day and delivered far more than many others which charge twice the price. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay again.

Room Tip: Ground floor units have less view, but have great access to the beach. Unit 105 was a fantastic loca...

I spent countless hours trying to decide on a place to stay in Maui for our honeymoon. I really only focused on 3 things: location, price and it had to be oceanfront (it's Maui after all!).

Aston Mahana at Kaanapali hits every one of those marks as one of the most reasonable rates on the island IMO.

This is not a luxury hotel so if Egyptian cotton and marble counters are important to you, stay elsewhere.

But if you are looking for an excellent base for your visit-
The patios are very private and capture amazing views, the room is cleaned every day, you have a full kitchen at your disposal (even though you will for sure eat out most of the time bc the food is amazing in Hawaii). You have laundry in your room to wash your bathing suits, beach towels etc so you don't need to over-pack. You are close to the beautiful north shore and about an hour from the south where you'll find turtle town, big beach, Kihei etc.

For the views and location you are getting am amazing hotel that allows you to save your money for all of the great activities, food etc. that Hawaii has to offer.

Oh and the sound of the waves crashing putting you to sleep should be enough reason to stay here.

Room Tip: Request a high floor
