What a wonderful 10 days we had staying at the Mahana.

The staff was courteous and responsive to any questions or needs we had. The slider came off the track while we were there - we stopped and mentioned that - and it was fixed before we returned for our afternoon lunch.

I requested a higher floor when making reservatgions - as TA posts had suggested the higher the floor the better the view.Those reviews were spot on! They accomodated our request and put us on the 12th floor! There was never a wait for the elevator.

Everything was updated and clean and the daily maid service was as if they werent there. They must have a way to tell if guests are in their rooms - because except for the first day we were there they always came shortly after we left and after we left again after lunch.

The only reason I gave is a very good rating rather than excellent is that I wished it had more of a beach. we knew that going in - but in talking about what we would have changed both of us missed a beach. However.....the bonus of going in the winter and whale watching from our lanai
soon made us forget about not having a sandy beach.If we go again we may try the summer as the winds and misty days made for a cooler trip that we expected.

Their concierege had an orientation every morning at 8:30 - well worth the "early " morning after the long trip from NY State.

This was our 3rd stay at the Aston Mahana in Maui and can't imagine staying anywhere else! It was so nice to be greeted by familiar friendly staff. The location is perfect and you could not be closer to the ocean on any other surrounding property. The hotel is definitely more adult-oriented so its quiet and peaceful which we love and hope it stays this way. Happy hour at Duke's is a must and if you'd rather cook at home, the bbq area is great. There is also the best pizza across the road. Our request to be on a high floor was met with no problems as soon as we checked in. Watching the whales from our lanai was way better than the whale watching cruise we took too. The only complaint we had was the WiFi connection was off and on and never reliable. We were told to reboot the modem a few times but that never helped. Thank you and your staff for making us feel so at home every time we visit. We can't wait to come back next year!

While the view is spectacular, we were very disappointed with our "premium" suite. It was very worn, dated and the carpet was not clean. I realize they are all individually owned and that's why I specifically booked with Aston, so if need be they could switch rooms for us. After requesting a premium room on a high floor we were given a poor room on a low floor so we asked to be moved. They said they were fully booked, so we were out of luck! Despite it all we still loved sitting on the lanai watching the whales and going to Dukes down the beach. We did discuss our concerns with staff and filled in a lengthy questionnaire. We most likely will not stay here again.

We stayed in unit 211 and had a wonderful time. I was a bit disappointed that we were on a low floor at first. Once we got to the room, the view was great. It was very close to the beach. The patio was screened in and had nice furniture. The room had a full kitchen and laundry. The kitchen was well furnished with pots and pans, they even had gas grills available for use pool side. We cooked 3 meals in the room and had everything needed for cooking.
We did not use the pool, but saw people using it and it visually looked good. There was a spa next to the pool as well. The beach right in front of the resort was a little steep and had some rocks but just south of the resort they were very nice for swimming. We rented snorkeling equipment from a local shop(with in walking distance, Snorkel Bobs) and snorkeled the reef right in front of the resort and were amazed at the amount of fish and sea life that we could see.
The view from the room was amazing. We were there during whale season and saw many whales right from our room's patio. I would recommend bringing binoculars so you can view even more whale activity. One morning we even saw a baby whale jumping(5-10 times) 100 yards in front of the resort.
The location was great, it is close to Lahaina(rental or bus). There are a bunch of good restraints with in walking distance of the resort. The beach is nice at the resort and close to several great beaches for snorkeling, swimming and surfing.
Overall it was a great resort and made the whole vacation a wonderful trip. We are already planning our next trip back to the island and will be staying here again.
