We stayed in unit #914 and can't imagine staying anywhere else. The view is spectacular and this one bedroom unit is obviously recently redecorated in the most beautifully elegant manner and yet furnished so comfortably. Initially we were concerned about being on the 9th floor but the elevators are speedy and silent, and waking up that first morning and seeing whale spouts from our bed was simply amazing. We brought binoculars and watched whales cavorting right in front of us while eating our breakfast on our totally private lanai.

The kitchen is fully furnished with new, high-quality appliances, and all the dinnerware and cookware one generally might need. We shopped at Costco and Safeway, but also at the nearby Times Market. We ate most of our meals in the condo because it was just so beautiful - the sunrises, the sunsets, the rainbows, the rain clouds hovering over Lanai and Molokai. There are barbecues below, a pleasant place to enjoy the beautiful garden flowers, the towering canopy of trees, the birds singing and the perfect 80 degree temperatures, while watching for one's Mahi Mahi to barbeque.

This unit is furnished with a washer and dryer, lots of hangers and drawer space! The hall closet even contained paddle-boards and a cooler to take off for a day at the beach. Beach towels are available at the pool.

The entire facility is so well maintained and located right on the beach. Walking through the parking lot, one can reach the boardwalk that extends along the waterfront just behind the sand and walk to nearby restaurants. The sandy beach out front extends all the way to Black Rock. Just 200 yards to the south is a great swimming beach.

There wasn't anything I can imagine that could have been better. Our stay in unit #914 at the Mahana felt like a little bit of heaven. Truly a paradise.

great condo/hotel setting. I loved the views the whole back wall of the condo is made up of floor to ceiling windows and the views are outstanding. I loved the fact that our condo was well maintained with comfy furniture and granite countertops, everything you would need was available from kitchen appliances to beach equipment like umbrellas and lunge chairs, even foam coolers. There was a medium sized pool and a hot tub that were well maintained and cleaned and really not very frequented so plenty of room for us to lounge, I think I may know why there weren't all that many people out when we went down to the pool... the wind in the evening. We had our 1 year old with us and being in the pool around 6 pm was a bit too cold, and at times the winds were so strong that it would blow my novel off the lounge chair. it was windy every night but not always as strong. It's not a reason not to go but it has been one that has so far deterred us from returning to this part of Maui. Also the beach right in front of the hotel is not swimmable as there are very large rock outcrops but there is a beach nearby that is large (kanapalli beach) with restrooms. Also be aware that this side of Maui does not have the white fine sandy beaches the sand here is more coarse and red not as fun for the kiddos to play in. We now tend to go to the south side where it seems that the winds are stronger between 11-1 in the day and much more calm in the evening. I do like this are of town due to it's closeness to downtown Lahaina and Whalers village.

We stayed in room 1013 this was high up and far above the palms for great view of ocean. We would recommend to all our friends. Saying that our friend don't have kids. This is not a kids condo, go next door for them and all he kiddie pools etc. Stayed a week only regret we could not stay 3 months. This was a premier studio and strongly suggest you go for the premier room.

2nd time back in 2 years with our teenagers....love the condos, proximity to beaches, restaurants and when eating in when we pick up fresh fish from The Fish Market, you have access to spotless state of the art BBQ's. Beds are very comfy and we watch the whales and turtles from our lanai. Would come 2 x per year if we could! WIFI in the units works great to keep connected.
