Clean rooms, very helpfull staff, and very friendly. would stay with them again...

This place was simply amazing! When we arrived, we immediately loved the property, beautiful well-kept grounds. Gives you a private, secluded feel while being minutes from all the action. At check-in, I asked about the pool closing because I had read on this site the day before that the pool would be closed during our stay for repairs. Turns out that's true, and sounds like they're getting a hot tub as many people had hoped! BUT, since the pool was closed, they gave access to a pool at another resort three doors to the north (a short walk along the beach at Ka'anapli Shores). AND they gave us 10% off our unit. Hard to complain about that! We never used the substitute pool, but did walk over to see it, very fine substitute if you ask me. After our trip we realized we never would have used the pool even if it was available, as we preferred the ocean.

Our unit? Gorgeous! Ninth floor one bedroom. Unbelievable view, as everyone raves about! Appears to be recently updated, or at least maintained very well! They let us take a look at it before we took our bags up to make sure we'd be happy with it. We immediately went back down and said we'd take it!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Oh, and free parking is a plus!

As many have already said, the beach directly in front isn't swimmable. But there was decent snorkeling right in front. Swimmable beaches are a short walk to the north or south.

There's really not anything I can say negatively about this place. We're already planning our next stay!

We have recently returned from Maui where we had a 3 nights stay at the Mahana, Sept 11th, 12th, & 13 th. This was a special occassion for for us as we travelled from Adelaide / Australia to join our friends , who came from Henderson Nevada.
From the moment we arrived at the Mahana , everything was wonderful. Karen on the front reception was so polite and welcoming . We had booked a 2bed, 2 bath condo, and we were given one one the 15th floor,in a corner room. The view was spectacular, as was the entire appartement. Both bedrooms had wonderful ammenities, and the entire decore was top class.
Granite kitchen, and both bathrooms as well. Appliances were stainless steel. 3 flat screen t.v.'s,huge lanai , which was accessible from bedroom and living room also. All furnishings, inside and on the lanai were excellent. Internet access, was great, and sound equipment also. The view from the Mahana is as wonderful as you could find anywhere.
We used the barbecue , and pool areas , and had a lovely walk on the beach. There were nearby restaurants, and shops, and a market to buy some supplies. Lahaina was only a 10 min drive away. I can not say enough good things about the condo, view , service , and overall experience at the Mahana. Our stay there will be one of my most memorable experiences of Maui. My husband, and our friends also feel this way. I would recommend this to anyone who may be considering staying there, however , put in a request for an updated room when booking. My husband and I choose to stay at the mahana at Kaanepali for our 25th Wedding anniversary and it was awesome1 The view was breathtaking and the condo was beautiful! Everything it in was up to date and it was very clean. It was soo relaxing falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves. The staff at the Mahana was very helpful . Your should try the mixed plate restaurant in Lahaina the prices were less than $10 per person and the food was very good plus you sit outside with a ocean view you can only imagine at sunset. Kimo's is more upscale but very romantic and the food is delicious. The only bad thing about our vacation was having to come back home, I miss Maui !
