“Awesome time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

We stayed at the Kaanapali royal J303. I had high expectation on this place and my expectation were not only met but exceeded! What a beautiful spot. Our condo was superb. Beds were so comfy that you did not want to get up in the morning! Very Clean and very modern. I would highly recomend this condo. The swimming pool and jacuzzi was clean daily. The pool was perfect temp all the time. It is a bit of a walk to whaler village but I like walking so it did not bother me! BBQing on the lanai was awesome. Seen lots and lots of whale which was exciting. Did the hana drive which was an adventure. I have nothing but good things to say! was there for 11 days and hopefully I will be able to go again!

Room Tip: food is pricey, so keep that in mind when doing budget! we ate a lot at the condo. BBqing was awesom...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014 via mobile

We booked a two bedroom at the resort and really liked the location. It is too bad that there is no way to cross the golf course without walking all the way up the hill and along the road. It adds double the walking time to reach the beach.

A couple of notes about the rooms... The upstairs bathroom did not have a door to separate it from the bedroom so be prepared to share your personal moments. The bathroom on the main floor is an ensuite so the person using the pull out bed does not have access to a bathroom once you turn in for the night.

The appliances are new and work very well. Having the washer and dryer is a great convenience.

The main layout and patio are spacious and have plenty of room for those brief rainy days.

Enjoy the walk to Whalers Village and the nearby Restaurants.

If you are reading this review, stop and booked this condo. We stayed in unit L-202 in September 2013. The complex is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect location. The walk to Whaler's Village shopping and dining is just a short walk away, along with Kaanapali beach and beach walk. It is very close distance to go south and visit Lahaina, or go north to Kapalua. Each unit has its own private lanai which is the best for morning coffee. The pool is very nice and quiet, in fact one afternoon we had the place to ourselves. We were in a two bedroom/ two bathroom unit and there is plenty of room and privacy for four people. We already have plans on coming back to stay in L -202 in 2015.

We rented L101 unit... Nicely appointed- Large, spacious condo! great location; 5min walk to whalers village- nice lanai, we had friends over with kids for a BBQ & felt like home away from home- the complex is quiet, pool is too.. Close to the action of the resorts but nice to come home to the quiet each evening-- huge value and this place was less than a garden room at the Sheraton! will definitely be back!

We rented P102 in May for our 10 day vacation. This unit is beautifully decorated and recently renovated. The unit has a perfect corner location on the golf course, and is in walking distance of Whalers Village. The unit came well equipped with all the comforts of home, a washer and dryer in the unit, 2 beautiful lanai's, and even an application for a marriage license!!! P102 is an absolute gem, and is where we will continue to stay for our next Maui vacation!

I'm late writing this review as we stayed in this Unit H202 February 23 - March 5. We were a group of 5. My husband and 3 adult children. The unit was spacious and well equipt. The kitchen was complete with everything needed to cook and serve a meal. Some spices and condiments were left behind which was nice. We used the community BBQ three times and found it interesting to interact with other guests. No beach towls were supplied, so bring your own. Lots of bath towels. Each unit includes a washer & dryer. We especially enjoyed the large lanai. It overlooked the golf course, courtyard and pool. As this unit was closest to the highway we experienced some highway noise with the window open in the 2nd bedroom. Comparing this unit to some others it appears dated and could use a little sprucing up. Had a dirty ugly stain on the dining room carpet. Beds were very firm,(kids complained) and the 2 sofa beds in the living room were more uncomfortable than most sofa beds, you could feel each coil of the springs. We liked the location of this complex being a short walk up the hill from the beach and Whalers Village. Pool was nice and chairs were always available. The complex was nicely kept, grass, flowers and shrubs attended to with pride. Each Unit in this complex is privately owned. What you see on the internet is what you get. We are planning on going back to Maui in February of 2014 and will stay in the complex if we can find another couple to travel with us. All Units are 2 bedroom and very large (approx 1400 sq. ft.) Would definately rent this Unit again should it be available.

We rented 2 of these condos last week and loved staying here! We had two families stay in J101 and J102. We were in J101. It says it sleeps 6 but that is because someone can sleep on a blowup mattress and another on the couch. (No sleeper sofa) There were 5 adults and thankfully one offered to sleep on the sofa. There was also a love seat if you have a child but it's not long enough for an adult. The condo was cleaned well prior to our arrival, however, the last renter had obviously been a lazy slob and put dirty dishes in the cabinets. We came in and put all dishes, silverware, utensils, etc in the dishwasher to be safe. There were plenty of dishwashing tablets, laundry detergent, towels, beach towels, coolers, etc to make our stay very easy.
The master bedroom was huge with tons of dresser and closet space! The en-suite master bath was large and had a very nice bathtub/shower. The other bedroom had two twin beds and nice en-suite bathroom with a stall shower.
The condo had all of the conveniences of home. A huge flat screen tv with dvd's and cable. Tons of books, a vacuum cleaner, broom and dustpan, iron, blowdryers and a washer and dryer! I know it sounds like a lot of stuff for housework instead of relaxing but when you have 5 adults (group of 11) staying for a week, you have to wash towels, sweep sand from the beach, cook some meals, etc. Speaking of cooking meals... This condo has a GREAT kitchen! 4 burner stove, full sized oven, large refrigerator w ice maker, double sink w disposal and dishwasher. The pantry is stocked with frequently needed items such as salt/pepper, a few spices, oil, pam, splenda, stuff that others are kind enough to leave for next renter. Also, there were plenty of pots and pans and baking sheets and pans. There were nice wine glasses, wine and bottle openers, and most of the utensils for food prep. (Knives are painfully dull but that may be for safety reasons?) The dining area had a large table that seated 6 comfortably. The master beds have the foam mattresses that I LOVED!! My sister-in-law said it was too soft for her but it felt like a heavenly cloud to me!! I only wish that the hot water heater was bigger. You have to take FAST showers and second person gets cool water. 5th/6th person is out of luck! ;) Central A/C was wonderful!
Ok, now for the location...
It is directly on the golf course. The den has sliding glass doors across the back that opened on to a lovely patio with a nice dining set that seated 6 and a gas grill. stepping off the patio you are only steps away from a very nice sized pool with lots of lounge chairs and a huge covered party area with lots of tables and chairs. Beyond that is the golf course, which if you cross it, then cross the street you are in Whaler's Village. This is a very nice open air shopping area with many stores and restaurants. We ate twice at the Hula Grill. Once out in the sand in their barefoot bar and once in their nicer indoor area. The menu inside is different and one of the best meals we ate while in Hawaii. Beyond Whaler's Village is Ka'anapali Beach! Beautiful!
If you need to choose between J101 and J102 consider this... J102 has 2 full sized sofas if you need to sleep 6 adults. The looks more modern and pretty but my brother's family stayed here and it wasn't as convenient. The dining table is and island that doesn't seat comfortably and the kitchen isn't as functional. We did our get-togethers in J101 for ease and comfort.
These are split level units with sunken master bedrooms and dens so if you are handicapped or elderly you will not want these units. Not to mention that there are lots of stairs to get from the parking lot down to the units. If you are mobile I would highly recommend these units! We had a ball and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Walk straight off of your patio to the pool! Loved this location/unit!!
