“Perfect Location!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We stayed in the villa for 5 nights in April. Beautifully renovated and a perfect location on Ka'anapali beach. Beautiful stretch of beach with great snorkeling within 5 min walk in both directions. Restaurant/beach bar on property was great too. We loved being able to order a full breakfast (we did take-out, to enjoy in our villa to start our day) as well as a Mai Tai in the afternoon. Our only glitch turned out not to be glitch at all. Coffie maker broken (leaked), but Chase n' Rainbows replaced and deliverd a new one to our door by the next morning. Can't wait to return to Maiu, and don't need to look for accommodations...I know where I will be staying.

This was our first and not last trip to Maui. The hotel was awesome. As suggested online we requested an updated room before our arrival, a 1 bedroom. They responded quickly stating they don't reserve specific rooms in advance. When we arrived and checked in our 1 bedroom oceanview room, it wasn't updated since the 70's and was extremely small, with a view of the main parking lot. We requested another room, and were told, sorry ,no other rooms are available. We were willing to down grade to a garden view or upgrade to an oceanview. Still sorry, nothings available. The woman at the front desk contiued to check for rooms available due to our plea. One came up so we took a look at it. It was much better, larger and recently updated, however they were repairing the lani above the room with jackhammers the entire length of our stay. We thanked her for her suggestion but we weren't willing to put up with the noise. She continued to diligently search for us and found a great 1 bedroom oceanview, room 621, beautiful room, three times larger the our original room and recently updated, granite countertops and the shower has 2 showerheads, very spacious.. Overall the hotel is wonderful. The Castaway restaurant is just ok, a nice convience at best. It's located on the best part of the beach, very sandy. Great for couples and family.

Stayed last year in September for 7 nights and it was perfect! Right on beach close to restaurants and Lahaina where we met Mick Fleetwood at his Fleetwoods restaurant he is cool and approachable. The studio condo we had was perfect and we will return, Lord willing!

First off, the rooms here are great. We stayed in a studio garden room which is actually one of my first complaints. There was not a garden to see from our room. The only thing out our balcony was a tree and the street. So to me saying it's a garden view could be misleading depending on which room you get. My only other complaint when you look at the pictures on their website you see the pool and ocean all in the picture but while the pool is near the ocean, you can't actually see it from the pool. So because of this the pool could be anywhere and to me lessens the appeal of swimming in the pool. I've stayed at another Aston resort on Maui and when we were on the balcony the gardens were right there and while swimming in the pool you could see an hear the ocean. Like I said, these are really minor things which is why I still rated it 4/5 but they are worth noting. Our kids loved it and the location is centrally located to a lot of attractions like black rock and Lahaina. The rooms were spotless and the beds were on the hard side but comfortable. We had not issue with noise from anyone outside or next door like you will have in some hotels. There were a lot of tv channels and the tv was flatscreen and bigger than most hotels. The staff was helpful as our flight left at night so we stored our bags there and used the showers they have downstairs from the lobby to clean up before we went to the airport so there was no need for a late checkout.

Spent 4 nights here at the start of two weeks in Hawaii. Although a bit dated, the hotel is very well maintained, beautiful gardens, right on the beach. Room was huge with a large kitchen area. The room was not ready when we arrived (around 2.30), so we decided to have lunch at the Castaway cafe on the beach attached to the hotel. Our only food mistake of the trip. Overcooked fish, lousy salad and chips. Disappointing start. But it did get better a couple of days later with their pupas at sunset.
4 days was not long enough inMaui - will be back

I found this property but remember... you are on an island and giant spiders are a way of life. I'm having a heart attack thinking about it but I'll move on. I thought the location was great if you are planning your trip to Maui on the Lahaina side of the island. It's a quick drive to everywhere on the islands so don't sweat a drive to another side, Haleakala, road to Hana, Maui country, etch.

The beach access is just great! I enjoy the sunsets at the beach every night and wouldn't miss them. You are extremely close to Lahaina for all of the various activities that can be found in, around and off shore of the town. It's an easy day trip to just about anything else. I'd recommend this hotel and would consider it again on a future trip.
