Like other reviewers, we got a great deal from the Expedia company in Lahaina (not affiliated with Expedia.com), $62 per adult, children under 12 free with each paying adult. We called on the same day and picked up tickets in Lahaina (there is also a souvenir store there where we got nice, souvenir T shirts for $3 each). This was the VIP rate so that we could sit near the front. The venue was beautiful, with a nice view of the sunset. There were complementary shell leis and little tables selling shell jewelry. There is an earthen pit (although most of the food is cooked in a kitchen) where the pig is supposedly cooked. The dancers were professional, better than other luau dancers we had seen before. There was a pregnant dancer amongst the women, which made me like the show even more---that there was equal opportunity. She was a great dancer, by the way. The mai tais and blue Hawaiian drinks were not good, but there are also optional sodas, also complementary. The food was average, just edible. The children had options such as hot dogs, chicken nuggets. The haupia pudding was very good, as were the slices of chocolate cake. Five stars because of excellent value, instead of the thousands we would have had to pay otherwise (19 people).
