“Typical Luau”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

This venue is located right on the ocean side and is very scenic. Everything was very well organized and on time. Servers were very very pleasant and quick. Open bar with all you can drink if you like that. The food was cultural and very tasty. The dance part of the show got a little boring after a while but thats what a luau is about. They came around with dessert for each table to share. The overall experience was average.

“Plan your commute!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

We drove up from Kihei and thought we had plenty of time to make the recommended 5:30 arrival. Long story short, we got stuck in traffic and arrived just before the show started. We grabbed a plate of food from the buffet, the tail end of which probably didn't help the food quality, which was average at best. The dessert tray served at the table was good though and the service was great. Had time for one quick and non-remarkable mai tai but nothing else from the bar.

We had good seats to see the show and the off and on spitting rain wasn't a problem. The luau gave out free plastic ponchos but I never bothered putting mine on.

The highlight was the show. Very nice and very well done. All the performers were professional and clearly enjoyed what they were doing. Nobody mailing it in here. Afterward the performers lined the exits and I got a nice photo of my wife with some of the beautiful dancers.

Overall enjoyable but perhaps a little overpriced. We had to try a luau once but probably won't do another.

“Fun, fun, fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

This is a must do at least once while visiting Maui. Although we visited other luaus throughout the islands we enjoyed ourselves so much because of the setting (sitting on the beach facing the water). The food needs some what improvement but our service was very good and the entertainment fabulous!

“Nice Luau Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

My husband and I truly enjoyed our first Hawaiian Luau. I did lots of research of Luau's and this one kept coming up as the best! Here is what you need to know. Get there early because parking fills up fast and also there is a huge lineup to get in. We bought our tickets online weeks beforehand. While you are in line waiting to get seated, the servers serve you drinks in line. Also it is all you can eat and drink, but I found the drinks I could barely taste any alcohol. They also give you a flower lei while in line waiting to get seated. I recommend when you go to the bar to get drinks that you double up and take two because the drink lineup is insane. The Mai Tai, Blue Hawaiian, Lava Flow and Honey Girl drinks were good. Also they have a professional photographer on site that takes pictures of couples/families against the beach before sunset. I wish we did it, we just took our own pics. The actual food was not bad, got to try a variety if authentic Hawaiian food. The actual luau was also very nice. We sat on the ground so we had a front view. If you have leg or back problems, I don't recommend sitting on the ground. They also had a nice tray of dessert that the servers brought out during the luau. At the end of the show, they give everyone free banana bread to take back to the hotel. It is very yummy. Also part of the luau, they get all couples to get up and slow dance by the ocean- it was very romantic! Our server was Kai and he was just absolutely hilarious! Tip to all the ladies- wear your best Hawaiian summer dress, and don't forget that flower above your ear.

“SO much better than the previous luau we attended...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

My family (including two children under 6) all went to the Old Lahaina Luau hoping for a better experience than the last one we attended in Kihei and were not disappointed....this luau is organized, professional, and top notch in every way. The food is exceptional as is the service....the wait staff are friendly and involved and the performers clearly enjoy what they are doing. There is no uncomfortable waiting while the food or drinks are served and the location is just beautiful. This luau was worth every penny and I would recommend it to everyone!
