I am a fan of Maui Tacos, but I ran into trouble here. I asked how I could go about getting a vegetarian burrito with rice and potatoes. The menu offers one with rice and another with potatoes but not one with both - no big deal. So, the girl said I could sacrifice the greens and tomatoes to have potatoes instead. It sounded like an easy solution.
When the burrito was ready, there were no potatoes. So, I told the girl the potatoes were missing. She then asked the cook if potatoes could be added and was refused. The girl didn't want to take the blame for the ordeal and said I would have to pay an additional 80 cents. I had paid with credit card, so I found the question preposterous. I reminded her that she had offered the substitution, but she insisted on 80 cents for potatoes. Instead of giving in to her foolish request, I decided to jump on Trip Advisor to write a review instead. C'mon, is 80 cents really worth losing a customer?
When I visit Maui, I mostly eat at the Lahaina Maui Tacos, so you might want to do the same. And as of note, the girl there was very hospitable.
