We just returned from our vacation in Maui. The only meal we ate out was for lunch on our last day at Cheeseburger in Paradise. We all loved our food...my bacon cheeseburger was excellent and loved the onion rings (and some of my husband's french fries, too). Our waitress was Kristine and she was so personable and took great care of us.

The only negative about the restaurant...my son-in-law had put his water bottle on the table while eating, the manager descended on the table out of nowhere and said, "Can I take your bottle? We serve water here and it's against restaurant rules to have anything that you've brought into the restaurant." Well, it wasn't as though we hadn't ordered drinks there, in fact we were on our second round (martini's for the guys, wine for the gals). My son-in-law just took it off the table. The manager could have handled it in a much more diplomatic way. His high and mighty attitude left a lot to be desired and really rubbed us the wrong way.

Why do people continue to go to this awful place? Until people stop going, nothing is going to improve. The help is always rude. The food is always terrible. DO NO WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! What a scam this splace is. The cheeseburgers are terrible (hard, stale buns) and the hostess is completely rude. God forbid my 77 year old mother would like a table on the first floor so she wouldn't have to use the stairs. You would think we asked her to hand over her first born child. If you must have a burger with a good view, do yourself a favor and get a sack of Mcdonalds and sit on the seawall. For four you will save about $50 too. STOP THE INSANITY!

I had dinner here and did not have a good experience. The place was packed, but didn't have to wait too long for a table, which was nice. We (2 of us) were seated at a table of four and didn't think anything of it until about 5 minutes later when they pulled apart half the table and moved it like 6 inches (not exaggerating) away and sat 2 other people. We should've just sat together. Anyway, whatever, we're here to eat; I'll deal. Our waiter was very friendly. The fries were pretty good, but the guacamole burger was horrible. I did witness something that was gross (on the part of employees not customers), but I'm not going to get into that. On the plus side, we had a good view of the water. I would never eat here again.

We were so excited to try Cheeseburger in Paradise that we made it the first stop on our 2 week trip in Maui. We waited outside for 20 minutes and were ushered to a small table, that was meant for 4 not 5.
We ordered burgers with a variety of toppings. We were shockingly told that we could only have our burgers medium or better..not medium rare like we are used to. When they arrived we could tell that these burgers were nothing more than pre-formed frozen patties and they were not even close to medium...they hadn't seen medium in an hour and had been cooked to the point of being flavorless. For a better burger stay on Front Street and across the street from the Banyan Tree to Cool Cat Cafe.
