“Fleetwoods”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

My wife and I went to Fleetwoods for a mid-afternoon snack and drinks. We chose the rooftop area. We both agreed that the rooftop area still needs some work. The restaurant has just recently opened and there are still some items that need some polish. The fountan/water feature was not working. The mechanical's along the southern side, near where we sat are visible along with stored ladders and other paraphernalia. That needs to be screened off. My wife opined that the decor is Moorcan influnced (what do I know, I just wanted a Longboard) but we both agreed it didn't feel 'Hawaiian' but maybe that is by design.
Our pupu's were good and the right amount. Beer was cold. My wife had I think a mixed drink that she thought was good but unfortunately I can't remember what she had.
On leaving, we checked out what appears to be the main part of the restaurant which is on the second floor. The decor was kind of dark in my opinon. We were there in the middle of the afternoon so it wasn't packed but our server said they are doing a very good dinner business.
I do have to make special mention of GREAT service and a shinning example of Aloha sprit by a young man who was busing the tables. I wish I had gotten his name. We had a lot of hummus left from our appetizer and my wife asked for a container and a cup of ice to keep it cold. This young man went out of his way to make a special effort to get the ice and take out container. Kudos and Maholo nui loa.
Overall, Fleetwoods rates just average, at least for now. We will return and see if they have fixed some of the growing pains and inevitable glitchs that a new place has. It has a great location and great potential that I hope it can achieve.

“First class evening!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Two nights left on Maui after 6 weeks and probably had best meal yet. Beef Wellington was the special and although it was expensive , it was out of this world. Together with it, the great drinks and super salads and the wit of Little Mick, we had a wonderful time.

“Up on The Roof”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Arrived a little late for sunset on the roof. No problem, a cooking seminar was finishing up. We could see the sunset sky behind Lanai. A few minutes later, the sunset ceremony started with a native Hawaiian who enchanted with tales of his areas history. Next the man with the bagpipes was really there and somehow made it seem this was very normal, a great entertainer. The drink menu is the best. Our server, Michelle, new all the details and took time to explain the light meals as well. The Mai Tyler ( Steve Tyler ) and the pineapple desert were tied for #1. What a wonderful evening. We will go back for the restaurant next.

“Had a great time - love the roof top lounge and bagpiper”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We had a great time up on the roof top lounge. We nab a seat where they had a cooking demonstration and waited for them to clear the counter away. You need to get there early for a bar table. Forget the dining tables, they are reserved, apparently by "VIPs". The host was quite enamored with one table of young women. Anyway, we watched a spectacular Hawaiian Tiki Torch celebration followed by a real Scottish bagpiper who was superb. We had a terrific waiter, Tim, who recommended a first class bottle of wine over fabulous appetizers. The sunset was beautiful and we were serenaded into the evening with a great band that played classics from all eras.

We were very pleased with the the great service by Little Mick...he helped us make our selection...the appetizer and salad would have been enough...but we indulged and had the the special, what a great choice...we left with the wonderful flavors in our mouth and a very full stomach...we'll be back!
