“Great place for a sunset walk!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

I preferred walking along this beautiful beach, as the water was a bit rough for swimming. There was an abundance of water sports available to those that chose to go that way!?!

“Lots to do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Beautiful beach and long walking trail on the ocean front to activities, shops and restaurants. Lots of hotels and timeshares to choose from. Great shopping at Whalers Village with a trolley from hotels. Activities include, standup paddle boarding, sunset cruising, jet skis, surfing, boogie boarding, playing in the ocean, kayaking, snorkeling, diving, parasailing, and there is even a Starbucks.

“Our 'Waikiki' on Maui”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Love this beach! While we enjoy the quieter beaches north of Ka'anapali, this beach is big enough that you don't feel crowded, yet busy enough that there is always something going on around you. Great people watching - from people swimming, surfing and boogie boarding, to the parasailers out on the water. Whalers village is nearby, if you're looking for a happy hour or afternoon shopping afterwards. Spectacular sand, and the water rolls in nicely so you can float without getting beat up - although there are spots where you can body surf if you're looking to.

“Beautiful beach and water...but crowded!”

Crowded but spectacular beach (by The Westin) and all within shopping and dining! Love this side of Maui!

“Lots to do, wonderful place to relax!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

This is definitely the place to stay while on Maui. After several family vacations to Hawaii and touring other areas, I am convinced that Ka'anapali Beach has something for everyone. The resorts are all in walking distance to the beach, which has great waves for body surfing, or learning to surf! The water gets calmer closer to Black Rock, which is perfect for kids or those skittish around large waves. There are several wonderful restaurants, and the view of other islands is phenomenal, particularly at sunrise and sunset. There are surfing lessons, parasailing, and snorkeling cruises available right off the beach, so a car is not necessary. People I have met have been celebrating almost every occasion-birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, honeymoons. Absolutely the best place I have ever vacationed!
