The family and I went to Honu on Christmas Eve. We made reservations online. When we got there, we were immediately seated at an oceanfront table. I was happily suprised as it was very crowded. Connie, was our waitress, she did an awesome job, timing the delivery of courses and was always there when we need more drinks. The vibe of the restaurant is laidback with a most female staff, it was casual atmosphere with upscale service.
I told my kids ( ages 12 & 15) they could order whatever they wanted, so we started with oyster shooters, brussle sprouts au grautin, mussles adn fried garbanzo beans...all the food was delicious. For entrees we ordered the crab mac and cheese, the dungeness crab and oso bucco with grits. Everything was eaten except the grits on my plate, it wasn't that the flavor was bad, I had never had grits and won't order anything with them again as I really dislike the texture. I do not like polenta either.
The desert menu was limited, of course we all want a never ending list of deserts. My daughter had the poached pear, which she absolutely loved, I had a vanilla ice cream with espresso poured over the top and my son had a flourless chocolate cake. All were really, tasty.
Our Christmas Eve was a total success!
