“Nice, relaxing, and good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

A very nice place. The property itself provides you with a nice room/more like a little apartment. The pool is nice, it could be a bit bigger but it is good enough. They have grills set up so that you can have your own barbeque if you want to enjoy your own meal as opposed to going out to eat.

I also think the location is ideal. It is not on the main drag with all the shops, restaurants, etc. Personally I think this was great because you are a little bit removed from the crowds and hustle and bustle of the touristy area, which makes it easier to relax while you're at the hotel. However, you are only about a 10 minute walk away from this area as well so going out for dinner, drinks, or shopping is a breeze.

It is not some spectacular/luxurious place, but I have nothing bad to say about it. Would definitely stay here again.

We were honeymooning in Maui and I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Lahaina city center and due to its amenities (separate living room/kitchen area and bedroom). This place was simply perfect and so relaxing compared to our stay in Oahu (to be fair Maui has a slower pace). The ladies who checked us in were exceptionally friendly, gave us reusable bags(great since Maui has a plastic bag ban) and let us check-in early into our apartment. The room was perfect, there is nothing to criticize: very modern with Hawaiian decoration, big kitchen with everything you need, nice dark stone tiles in the bathroom, the dryer and washing machine were a great plus as well. Also, they have a salt water pool and a "normal" pool. There are enough lounge chairs and the views of the surrounding hills from the salt water pool were amazing. In general landscaping at this place was very meticulous and beautiful. I hope to be back one day. It was the prefect combination of calm paradise and being in the smack of things.

The Aina Nalu location is a perfect place to stay for a family or couple that doesn't want to rent a car and is willing to use public transportation. These are condos with with full kitchens, living, bedrooms, laundry in room units. There is plenty of room in the units for a family. The pavilion pool is awesome place to relax. There is an outdoor pavilion to eat, read, etc. the other pool is smaller, but still nice. Everybody complains about parking fees, that's unavoidable - big deal... We have stayed at other resorts in Hawaii in Kaanapali, Wailea, Kehei, etc. And this place for the money is the best. All the nightlife in Lahaina is right around the corner. And during the day, the bus can take you to the beaches of Kaanapali for a few bucks. Half the time we rented a car to explore Maui; Haleakela, Hana, Iao Needle, Paia, etc. The rest of the time we spent relaxing at the pool at Aina Nalu. If you want to be on the beach, this is not for you. But if you like being centrally located, a quiet atmosphere, close to nightlife, etc. This place is for you.

Room Tip: Rooms by the pool are nice, but will be noisy.

We stayed at the Outrigger Aina Nalu over Christmas 2012. My family journeyed from Australia and were joined there by cousins who had come over from Eastern Canada, to spend Christmas together. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo ( C107) was very comfortable (as were those of our cousins) and the front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. After 8 days, we flew home to Sydney and I realised ( upon arriving home) that I had left behind a beautiful pendant, which my Canadian sister-in-law had given me for Christmas. I was upset to have lost something of sentimental value and which I had only had for a few days. I telephone the Aina Nalu and spoke to Sheila, the General Manager. Sheila could not have been more helpful - a search was conducted of our condo (with the co-operation of the next residents) and not only was the pendant found, but Sheila personally posted it to me and would not hear of my paying any postage. This has left us with a permanent great memory of the Aina Nalu!!

We visited maui 15 years ago and spent the whole time in Kihei and this time wanted to spend a little time in Lahaina. We wanted a condo as we came as a family of four and like a little more space including a full kitchen for storing food etc. so we aren't eating out all of the time. This seemed to be one of the few places that had what we were looking for. It is not cheap at this time of the year but it certainly delievered what we were looking for. We asked for a ground floor near the pool and it was well decorated (some furniture a little warn), modern and clean. We had a complaint about our shower and they responded immediately. All in all a good experience and it was close to everything in Lahaina.

Room Tip: No elevator so ground floor is better BUT walls are thin so we could hear people above and below us.

This place is a great place to stay if you don't want to drive around Lahaina. It's location is perfect, just 2 streets off Front Street and the Banyan Tree with the grocery store just a 3min walk. The units are a comfortable and spacious - a basic condo, with a full kitchen, laundry, living, bar, sleeping areas. The main pool is the best place to relax, next to no one uses it and it's very quiet. Parking is not free, you can park on the street, but beware - local theft is abundant. last time we came, we actually took the local bus here from the airport - less than $10 for 2. If youneed to rent a car for an excursion, plenty of rent-a-car places close. The full kitchen can save you some serious money. Eateries are abundant around here, not cheap but reasonable.

Room Tip: One that overlooks the pool. Most look over a parking lot. If you don't mind it, get a cheap roo...

Aina Nalu Outrigger Condo is located one block from Front street in Lahaina, Maui. This eliminates the need to rent a car which helps out financially as the hotel charges $15 a day for parking.
A five minute walk takes you to many quality restaurants and shopping. We rented a one bedroom unit which had enough space for two people. There are two bedroom units available. Ours was very clean with two air conditioning units. We liked the unit but were surprised how close our front door neighbors were. We could definitly could hear all our neighbors. There was supposed to be designated smoking areas but the people below us apparently didn't know about it.

The salt water pool was a bonus as it was large enough to do laps.
We would stay there again if we could specify a room. They do have rooms with a better view than we had.
All the staff were very courteous and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of one of the two pools or at least a parking lot. They have rooms with v...
