“Heavenly Hololani!”

Based on reviews found on Tripadvisor, we booked a week at the Hololani. It was great right from the start with making our reservation with Marcia, the friendly, efficient office manager. Our flight to Maui was delayed, so when we arrived at Hololani, we were really tired. We were pleased that that our unit(B603)was just as promised, with welcoming lights and ceiling fans on, and we fell asleep to the sound of the ocean. The next morning we awoke to great ocean views from the lanai. The condo and grounds were really clean and well-kept. Hololani doesn't have the fancy, busy feeling of the expensive resorts, but it is a small, friendly place that is very comfortable and is a good value for the money. It is easy to get to the good swimming/snorkeling beaches as well as shopping.

We'd definitely recommend the Hololani, especially the units on the upper floors as our views were great! We also got the idea from Tripadvisor to get a free Safeway discount card at the Lahaina store, and we saved alot with that. Just pick one up at the customer service desk, and the cashier will give you the card.

“A Great Place to Stay in West Maui”

Our family of five stayed at the Hololani for about a week in February and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our suite was larger than we expected and was clean and recently renovated. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the availability of barbeques by the pool. The grounds and the pool are very well maintained.

The views of the ocean, with Lanai and Molokai clearly visible are absolutely breathtaking. When we visited in February, we could easily see whales just offshore and were awed by their fantastic breaches.

There was not a wide beach right at this location, although there was some sand and enough length for a short walk. I would recommend you rent a car and simply drive to the many beaches in Maui - some of the best are within 5 to 10 minutes of the unit. We particularly enjoyed the snorkelling at Kapalua Bay (5 minutes north).

Here's a tip - don't immediately go out and purchase boogie boards etc. for your visit - check with the hotel manager - often people leave their boogie boards and other equipment behind at the hotel - these are made available for your use!

We stayed at the Hololani from Dec. 27, 2005 through Jan. 4, 2006 - What a great place to spend New Years or any other day of the year.

Our unit was B-204, it was very clean, we had everything we needed in the kitchen and even utensils for the BBQs. Tons of dishes so we didn't have to run the dishwasher all the time. It was nice, peaceful, relaxing and quiet.

The other guests and the staff were very friendly. There are a set of small steps that lead right down to the beach. Our unit had a closet full of beach toys and chairs that I assume they had accumulated from other visitors not wanting to pack them and take home. We had great views of both Lanai and Molokai from both balconies (lanais). The grounds are beautiful full of all sorts of tropical flowers, even cute little banana trees.

The surf was usually heavy at night and was a great thing to listen to falling asleep or just relaxing out on the lanai.

We never saw any dolphins swim by during our stay but we did see an occassional sea turtle and many whales.

Just across the quiet street is a little convenience store, gas station, some good restaurants and shops.

If we return to Maui, I would definately stay at Hololani again. The prices are great, the rooms are perfect, everything was just like a post card even the sunsets every night.

We stayed for 10 days in B-204. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we had made the right choice. We had a double-end unit, so the master bedroom had a gorgeous ocean front lanai as well. The condo was very tastefully decorated and gives a great island feel. Everything was so clean and updated as well. The sunsets were awesome, the rainbows were breath-taking, & the pods of dolphin swimming by were wonderful to watch. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept.We loved sitting on the lanai in the evenings and watching the flickering tiki torches that lined the grounds along the beach. We hated to leave. We have already booked another 10 days for May 2006. Can't wait to return. We've stayed at other condos, but nothing compares with the Hololani for us. The rental manager went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we could wish for.

We stayed at the Hololani (room A602) last week, and we loved it. As everyone else has said, all the rooms face the ocean, and a beautiful balcony runs the length of the unit. Our particular unit had been upgraded, and we had granite countertops throughout and new appliances. The beach in front isn't great for snorkeling, but it's perfect for the kids because it had smaller waves. Our two children (ages 7 and 10) loved going down there to play, and they also enjoyed the pool area. There's a barbecue area by the pool, and we made use of the grills several times. A pod of dolphins swam by one day, and the views of Lanai and Molokai are oustanding. The building is very quiet, and the beds were comfortable. Our unit had lots of nice amenities including a blender, toaster oven, hair dryer, and beach towels. Probably the only drawback we found was a lack of hot water and low water pressure in the showers. We would usually go snorkeling at Kapalua, which is only 10 minutes away at most, and it was about a 15 minute drive to Lahaina. Our stay there was perfect, and we were sad to leave.
