“Good for one night visit.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

A decent, safe place to stay right in town, off Front street. Simple cozy room with bathroom/shower and cute little balcony with chairs. No one at the front desk from 7pm to 11am. You need to pay $10 for Internet and $15 for parking in the lot a half block away. Nice to know that before you go !

This Inn was a great value. We stayed in the heart of Lahaina for $100 a night- can't beat that! The rooms are pretty small and basic, but that was fine for us- it's Maui!- we didn't spend much time in the room :) The air conditioning was perfect after a long, active day.

One cool feature we didn't appreciate until we used it was free guest parking at the Royal Lahaina. The Royal Lahaina didn't seem like anything special, and the amenities there aren't worth the drive, but the beach there is amazing and free parking in that area is a real plus!

Two big complaints: 1) Bed was very uncomfortable and the frame creaked loudly at the slightest movement (if you have a partner, they will hear you turn over, sigh, move your arm, etc.). If you have the same problem, we recommend propping the frame still with bottles and pillows like we did :) 2) Rooms facing the parking lot are extremely noisy at 6am. At around this time, trash and recycling gets picked up and the ENTIRE parking lot gets leaf-blower cleaned which means loud beeping, crashing glass and noisy motors- all of which pierce right through the historic (thin) windows. If you like sleeping in past 6am on vacation (and even if you are a heavy sleeper like myself), this is a serious downside. I recommend staying on the road side if that's an option.

Overall, I don't think you can really beat the value for the location. Despite the downsides, we would probably consider staying here again unless we could find a better value :)

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the road side- much better view from your lanai (the other side overlooks dumps...

i spent 2 nights here in january 2012. the rooms are quaint & clean. my room had a small lanai which was nice even tho the view was of trees & trash bins. the location is right in the middle of town which i liked - close to shopping, bars, restaurants, galleries, etc. i found it a very pleasant place to stay. the staff was very friendly & helpful. after 9 or 10pm there is not staff on location. i would stay here again.

The Lahaina Inn is a quaint, historic property, with lots of character, but the rooms are overpriced for their size. We stayed here as it was the only room in town we could get as we had nothing booked. The rooms at the front are slightly bigger, but would get a little more street noise.
The best thing about this place is it's location, smack in the centre of town.
I wouldn't choose to stay here again, nor would I recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front (ocean view?) are slightly bigger (but still small)

Nice little place right off of Front Street. Location is pretty much ideal. Lots of stuff very nearby and almost all within a short walk, which you'll want to do anyway because it's Maui.

Front desk hours are pretty odd, as mentioned in previous reviews.

We took a family trip and were fortunate enough to have all adjoining rooms and therefore adjoining lanais. Very cool. Not so cool was that the rooms were all on the back side of the hotel, so a nice view...of the parking lot. Ask for odd # rooms if you want views of Lahainaluna/Front Streets. Also be aware that the garbage trucks come every day during the week, right around 6am, and you WILL hear them.

The room we had (#10) was at the end of the hall. The queen bed, although comfortable, was an odd choice given the room's small size; it left very little room for two adults' stuff.

The bathroom was pretty good size. Shower could use some updating, and the toilet was a little fussy.

All in all, like I said, very not bad. Not fantastic, but for the money and location I cannot complain.

Room Tip: Even numbers are on the backside of the hotel. No elevator. Punch code to enter when front desk is...

Stayed here in May '10 with my friend during our road trip throughout Maui. It was our last stop in Maui and glad we got there early so we could take in as much of Lahaina as possible. The town itself has parts that feel like it did decades ago, but of course lots of it is commercialized now and targeted towards tourists. Despite that the town has it's little treats. Among them a walk down Front St. and it's many stores along the shoreline, a sunset view with Lanai seeming like only a stones throw away, and strolling through the maze of roots of Banyan Tree park. The other treat is this old plantation style inn almost smack in the middle of town.

The hotel entrance is next to the restaurant that occupies most of the ground floor. The reception area is not too big, not too small with nice antique furnishings. The theme of old furnishings continues upstairs into the rooms, including the library/lounge area. Note: there is no elevator, just a nice wooden staircase. I got a corner room furnished with a full size bed, wooden desk with chair, large wooden TV console with TV, and a lanai with rocking chairs. Everything about the room felt classy and well maintained, even the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and though there was a little bit of noise from the nearby places, most of it stopped at around 10pm. The rest of the night was a comfy sleep.

If back in Lahaina would certainly look to make this our place to stay again.

Room Tip: All rooms have lanais, but it seems like the corner room closer to Front St probably gives you a bet...
